Blew a coolant line and had a major overheat--consequences??
Crap...
I knew this was a disaster, a kinked coolant line going in and out of the turbo.
The heat must have been so high, the coolant line blew a hole in it.
I was driving and suddenly noticed my egt's climbing to about 850C. I looked down and noticed my water temp gauge pegged in the red. thank god I was right near a truckstop so I fixed it by bypassing the turbo housing and filled her back up with coolant.
Car seems to drive just fine. Is there any consequences in overheating like this if the car seems to be ok?

you should probably be OK. See if the water bubbles at idle. Do a compression or coolant pressure test to make sure the head gasket isn't damaged.

You should be ok. My coolant leaked out while driving to San Antonio(4hrs) and I was boosting along. The funny thing was that my temp guage only read a little higher than normal and the car checked out fine. It was during the winter and I couldnt figure out why the hell my windows kept being foggy. It was because of the leaking coolant and I drove like this for a week and made a 4hour road trip. when I was boosting my car did feel kinda slow, so I pulled over and I saw traces of dry coolant all over my turbo.!!

no bubbles at idle. man i was scared. thats all i need is a cracked block or something. guess i'm alright. You would think my car was my wife the way I panicked!
well after it was all over, i spent about 4hrs tuning the car with the new turbo.
still get that strange hesitation at 350mbar
thanks for the support.
