Re: The Blackbird rises from the ashes - SUPERCHARGED - Build Thread
This thread reminds me of RMCDaniels and his supercharger setup. I wonder what happened to that? Awesome setup, thanks for the hard work, time and cash investment.

Re: The Blackbird rises from the ashes - SUPERCHARGED - Build Thread
Have they ever sold a kit ??? I read through that thread and the OP has stopped posting over three years ago. My experience with the M90 supercharger when compared to a M62 is that the gains in performance are limited even though the CFM flow is dramatically greater because of the increased level of parasitic loss. It takes a lot of power to drive a M90. Someone posted a quote of peak power of less than 360 wheel HP with the M90 whereas the smaller M62 combination the OP had previously made just under 300 wheel HP.
So it looks like the only thing my thread and his have in common is the basic idea to make big power with a supercharger instead of a turbocharger. I have done it... dyno sheet posted to prove 540 wheel HP... and RMCDaniels is still working on it... maybe.
bigG, do you have a link to the kit or parts for sale ??? I would love to check it out.
Oh, and remember that Motorvations Motorsports did the developmental work on my car and has created a kit that IS for sale now. They have them on the shelf and ready for delivery. A built engine should be able to produce similar results to mine and a stock engine can easily exceed 400 wheel HP. 370-380 wheel HP will likely be VERY reliable on a stock "B" series VTEC engine.

JRCivic1 did you get a chance to get any videos of your car tearing it up? Since your car was the guinea pig for the developmental work I'm sure you got lucky and was able to keep the kit!
I remember speaking to Jim about his "Race" kit. It's nice to see some love for the B-Series and that new and/or improved parts are still available. I would be interested in this kit but I have already invested heavily into my JRSC setup. Also, I believe the off-the-shelf Race kit is not complete as you still need intercooler, bov, charge pipe, couplers and clamps? I could be wrong as it has been a few months since I've last spoke to Jim about this kit.

Still no videos porofek... hopefully soon. Truthfully, I am not really sure what to video. The few times I have been out with the car, nobody will even try it... so, other than maybe the scared faces on those who have ridden in it... or a gauge cluster shot at full throttle... I am not sure what people like yourself would be interested in seeing.
I guess I could take "requests"...

My kit wasn't free... I did have to pay for it. I did get to keep the one-off pre-production sample crank pulley, so there is that. LOL Yes, the MVM race kit is not a complete kit... you would still have to provide an intercooler, charge pipe, couplers and clamps as well as a BOV or recirculation valve. MVM will eventually be offering COMPLETE kits, but it is my understanding that they will be for the medium sized supercharger and not the big kit like I have.

You are gonna have to get on a plane for that... I know where you live !!!
porofek and ComptechGSRSC... Your requests are noted. I will NOT be launching the car from a "dig" at this point because I have stock axles on the car and they will likely splinter like balsa wood at the hit !!! LOL. Hard rolling-pull from 3rd to 4th scaring a passenger... you got it.

Here are a few pics (new camera) to show the completed install along with a few close ups of the individual components... the supercharger itself, the Setrab oil cooler and the Full-Race intercooler. The last pic is a shot of the custom crank pulley that I designed and had made for this special application.

Re: The Blackbird rises from the ashes - SUPERCHARGED - Build Thread
Ummm... that is a thread-jack there Chance EG !!! LOL
I think the proper responses would certainly be solutions along the same vein as what is being used here in this thread...
For those wanting to go the supercharged route and keep A/C and P/S, the only solution TODAY is to find a used JRSC kit and install it OR purchase a ProCharger kit. Sometime in the near future, Motorvations Motorsports will complete the development of a kit using a Rotrex supercharger that will allow the user to keep A/C and P/S if they so choose... making a very viable third alternative solution that is still within the supercharger vein. Hell, they probably would be marketing it right now had they not been forced to pause the development, complete client builds, construct a brand new facility and move their business from their current location to the new one.
Once available... this generalized idea that "if you want big power and keep your accessories, you gotta go turbo" will no longer be accurate. There WILL be a choice. At that point, one simply has to decide which path is best for them.
The build that I have outlined in this thread is really focused on the potential of a supercharged "B" series engine and the desire to do something DIFFERENT. I do have daily driven vehicles in my stable that have A/C and P/S... and I can assure you that when these MVM kits are available, they WILL be my choice over a turbo kit to "up the power".

Nice job.
My GSR has the JRSC kit , it is awesome. Nice 4.79 final, LSD, and R trans.Want some video. My you tube has a walk around.
I like to compare it to my Turbo F23 accord with a T3/4.
