Default Big problem with my motor mounts. Need help, (kinda long).

Ever since I have been boosted my stock mounts have been giving me hell. When I did my swap I put all new OEM mounts in. And that was maybe a little over a year ago. Now I've been boosted for about 7 months now and it seems that my motor mounts cannot take the abuse. The lower ones are shot and today I just broke the driver side upper mount. BTW I have an LS in a 98 civic. The three bolts that go into the block on the driver side upper bracket broke off inside the block. How do I go about getting these out? I was gonna go to sears and get a bolt extractor but I've never used one before, and I was just wondering if that is the route I should take. Also do you think that I will need to re-thread those holes are will they be alright. And one last thing, when I get these broken studs out should I upgrade to a driver side upper hasport mount and then polyurathane inserts on the two lowers and rear? I wanna keep vibrations to a minimum because I drive this car everday but I do not want this to happen again. Thanks in advance for the help

That's really strange that your driver side upper mount snapped off those bolts... Did you or someone else you know ever take off that mount and put it back on?? They just shouldn't snap like that unless they were overtorqued, etc. but whatever, stuff happens... Anywayz if they were too lose and snapped then it could have possibly damaged the treads but hopefully they're okay... You're just going to have to take out the bolts with an extractor and check it out for yourself. Hopefully they'll be fine but if not try helicoiling the hole or if you have to retap to the next biggest size... As for the mounts themselves it's up to you what you wanna do... Hasports look awesome and work great but they do cost more than say Prothane Inserts... I personally don't like Energy's rear mount as it is a lot softer material than that of the Prothanes... If you take this route I would get a Prothane kit for the driverside upper, rear, and tranny upper For the front lowers Prothane doesn't make a kit that I am aware of and Energy's will work just fine... You'll be left with a extra Energy rear insert but hopefully that's okay with you... This works for all of our 500whp+ cars so I'm sure you'll be fine... Just my $0.02, Good Luck

I was the one who put the motor in, I didn't tourque them to spec. You live and learn I guess. Where is the best place to get prothane mounts from?
