Best way to detect where oil is coming from?
Do you guys ahve any special chemicals that will pinpoint where oil is coming from? I have an oil leak on the back of my block, and I cant figure out where its coming from...hte oil is everywhere...yet I see no obvious leaks. Seems that it only leaks under boost... drips a little bit after I stop driving..my back of the oil pan is dripping.
btw its a neon. Its not the HG, might be the bedplate(like mains...but it bolts to the skirt of the block) could be the oil pump...could be pressed in fittings on the back of the block...maybe my guage fittings. **** I dont really know.
Is there anything you can get that **** DEFINITIVELY PIN pointed with? besides wipe it clean and look again. thanks guys

that dye stuff works. just clean the area where oil is accumulating and add the dye. then some of them you need a special light to see where its coming from. i have used this in auto class before and it works quite well
