Default Best way to access oil feed?

I've searched on the subject and found a couple threads that talk about the best way to get to the back of the block.

They basically said go in where you would normally change the oil filter (from the bottom) and slowly but surely unscrew the stock oil pressure sender and screw in the tee.

Well it's tight as hell up there, I can bairly get the oil filter clamp on the filter, I can only imagine what a pain in the *** it would be to screw in a tiny fitting and tighen it up.

Is removing the intake manifold a better idea? or is it just a waste of time? I'm going to be teeing the oil line at the firewall. I want to make sure it's nice and snug, I don't want to worry about leaks!

Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It is a very tight squeeze, but I did it.... and I suck at cars! I dunno if removing the IM would work, sorry. The whole process wasn't too tough for me though; have you tried getting at it from the underside, yet?

I'm lazy, so I used the golden eagle sandwich adapter. It works well and took me about 4 minutes to hook up my oil supply. If you're like me, and don't want to mess with it. It's a goodway to go. Also, I've heard of those brass T's snapping off at the block from engine vibrations.

To anyone reading this, I don't need any comments about how it's too expensive and I'm a sucker. I've seen posts where people badmoth GE for having overpriced parts. It's done, and I'm happy. (Defensive much?)

remove the filter. After doing that take out the sender. (It's a bitch). You might break that black plastic/rubber **** in the process. I believe it's a 24 mm wrench (not positive though) and just continue to loosen in small intervles till it comes out.

The T will be hard to fit in with all of the lines pre-connected, so u MAY have to disconnect some to screw it in there. And work at it for a while. You'll get it.

It's a little tricky, but worth it in the long run

I'm not actually teeing it off at the block so it will probably be easier. I bought a 24" line and a 48" line and of course all the adapters and tee's and stuff...

Bought it from mcmaster, GREAT service, shipped here over night and i'm in Canada!

anyway, if it's not that hard installing a Tee up there, then one line shouldn't be that bad.

Use this for your oil needs.

http://forums.clubsi.com/showf...art=1

Its way cheaper than the GE oil feed and functions just the same..
