best turbo pistons that create no piston slap what ones do u choose
im looking for the best pistons to use on a 84mm darton sleeved block, i dont want any piston slap, but if its not achievable then what is the best brand or piston to buy that will not create piston slap?

a lot of this is based on your clearances that you are running as well as the meterial that your pistons are made out of.. with that said, i'm a big wiseco fan.

Yea ive heard and read wiseco are pretty good, i was interested in seeing how other people thought of CP or arias pistons.

It has nothing to do with the type of pistons you have. It deals mainly with the clearances that the machine shop does and that they do them to the spec's that the piston manufacture recommends. I had CP pistons and I liked them, but the machine shop I used put to much clearance between the pistons and walls and I got major piston slap after 500 miles and now I am having to rebuild the short block.
I recomend CP's or Wiseco's they are both great pistons

thats due to the material that the pistons are made of. With the lose clearance is because the pistons will expand and make it tighter after a few pulls.

i agree about the material being used making some noise, I have JE and my car sounds like a diesel, 15k miles with 15 psi and no problems.
I was doing some thinking on this yesterday on the way home from the track....i have built 6 engines with wiseco's in them, all using the same machine shop as i took my block and JE's to, and the wiseco's never make a sound, but my JE's do. then i also remember that there was really no "front" on my JE, the reliefs were the same on both sides and the pin was on center of the pistons. The wiseco has an offset pin just like O.E.M. with the offset oppisite of engine rotation. does anyone think this may be a factor in some of the noise heard in my JE?
just a thought, I am going to order me some wisecos this week, and take it to the same machine shop to do the bore and find out, I am sick of hearing these things
