hey i got an ek, and am about to do a 3" exhaust, but dont know which muffler to go with, which sounds, best and is there any smaller ones? some of the 3" turbo mufflers I've seen are much too large for my lowered ek, i've checked out, apexi, tanabe, 5zigen, blitz, magnaflow, but which do yall recommend, and is there a 3" muffler with like say, a 4-5" canister?

Lately , alot of magnaflow 3 inchand 4 inch have been showing up. They are light weight , cheap and have many different sizes. Most of the sport FWD at the NHRA events run them , and run them on 10sec street cars also look decent, bang for the buck.!

I got a megan racing n1 off ebay and I really like it.. Much better than the apex units I have seen.. I like the internal design more also.

Were you asking me? I have not run an apex. After looking at how they are built I chose to skip it. Mine is fairly loud. I have full 3" exhaust with no cat or resonator.. a cat or resonator would help quite it down. Its not bad at cruise speed and I like how it sounds when I am on it.

is your car a street/strip car or full race. personally, i would get an e-cutout. i'm going to get one b/c i want to run open dp at the track. but my car is a daily driver. just my 2 cents.

i'm currently running open dp, its a bit too loud for me, which is why i was looking for a small 3" muffler, but like i said, mufflers like the apexi N1 turbo muffler would surely get all scratched and dented up on the bottom, hell i dented my 5zigen NA muffler.

what do yal think of just running a 3" straight pipe all the way back with a resonator in the middle? will that clean up the sound enough?

i also love my magnaflow it's simple, sounds good and was cheap... i got my whole 2.5" mandrel bent aluminized catback including muffler for $320 installed at a local shop (Miami Muffler).

How does that magnaflow and dynomax sound? Are they a little quieter than the thermal and do they perform just as well.

I've heard a lot of good things about Magnaflow lately. I might be going with one of their mufflers (4x9 Oval). It'll be either that or the Veilside Teardrop.

i have dynomax, sounds dope, but to be honest, i have done WRX's with ebay muffler to HKS carbo muffler, VW's with dynomax, borla

and i must say, mufflers dont make MUCH of a diff IMO, the engine is always gonna have its same sounds
