Best Turbo for a B18B1
What do you guys think is the best turbo for a B18B1 motor? My goal is to make over 240tq at 10psi and more at 15psi for track use. The car will see mainly street driving and a few 1/4 mile passes. I was thinking T3/To4e 50Trim or 57 trim but someone has mentioned that a 60trim T3 would be better?

what would the differences be between the 50 and 57 Trim?
Should i consider a T3 60 trim, obviously there is a reason the person suggested it im just looking at why and how much of a difference it would make

Re: (scarlemthug)
that gt32 has got to cost a pretty penny. the t3 is too small for you to run 15psi on, and will be working its way out of efficiency, although it would be pretty responsive. your power would drop like a rock after 6200ish.
the 57 trim fits the ls nicely, its what i plan on using. here is a link to the compressor map

I would recommend the same but with an E compressor cover. The GT32 is a non ball bearing turbocharger so no it does NOT cost a pretty penny

Is this the one you are talking about?
http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/garrettt28.html
Would this turbo below be too big for my application?
http://store.yahoo.com/cheaptu....html
Basically i dont wanna be limited to power because of the turbo but i also want to have a very usable power band for the street.

Neither of those are the GT32. I dont want to link to a particular web-site so contact a Precision dealer on Honda Tech (Arturbo, ForcedAir, TheShodan, Lightning, This One, etc). The GT3251E is perfect for your goals.

520 GT-32 71, 76mm 52 .5 Standard 64 mm 73 .78
What would the difference be between the GT-32 and the GT3251E you mentioned?
Approx how much do you think retail would be on the turbo?

So the only difference between the 3255 and 3251 is in the compressor. This is just a guess but the 3251 wouldnt flow as much air but it would spool faster than the 3255 and the 3255 would produce more peak hp/tq but spool slightly later?
I am probably wrong but just a guess.
Brand - Why did u go with the T3/T4 57 trim?
wisjdmhonda - Is the SC34 57 trim the same as the T3/T4 turbo?

So for the best powerband for street use the GT3251E which you suggested would be the ideal turbo. Now to find a good deal on one or maybe ill get lucky and i can get it included in the kit im suppose to buy.

Re: Best Turbo for a B18B1 (scarlemthug)
When my LS was boosted, I ran a T3/T04E with a 57 trim compressor wheel w/ a .60 a/r housing and .48a/r exhaust housing w/ a stage 3 wheel... I loved that turbo... With a blip of the throttle it would hit 0 vaccumm easily, and made full boost (10.5 psi) by about 3,800 rpm...

Re: Best Turbo for a B18B1 (4U2NV)
See thats what makes me think the T3/To4e 57 trim would be good for my setup. Such a hard decision when there are so many options.
