Default Best clutch and flywheel for the money...?

my stock clutch is almost mush. its about time i replaced it with something with more holding power. what do you guys recommend for a 6psi turbo LS? since i'm doing the clutch, i figured why not do a flywheel at the same time. as for flywheels the best deal i've seen was on a clutchmasters, anyone running this? good/bad?

the clutchmasters is like 7.5 lbs, that's too light for a turbo'd daily driven car IMO. Stick with a flywheel 10lbs or over if you want the best results

I have the CM stage 3 plus the CM lightened flywheel and absolutely love it. The car revs great and shifts like stock. The stage 3 is, of course, a street/race disc and I think you would love it. If you ever go with the Hondata and get a stage that comes with the full throttle launch/shift option, you will like the quick revving light flywheel even more, I hear. My flywheel was $225 and the stage 3 was $380. I just wish I had enough money for the Quaife LSD too. Some day...

it just revs too fast to take advantage of a t3/t04e. If he had a lot bigger turbo on there it would be another story, but when I drove with the 8lb jun flywheel it went too fast through the boost for my taste

Try the clutchnet stage 2 clutch. Contact ben@importparts.com ....should be 300.00 and 50.00 extra if you want new bearings.

I got the ACT A14XTSS clutch, and the pedal is a lot stiffer than stock, but the grip is so much better. It also engages smoothly.

Also got the TODA 8 pounds chromoly flywheel and it works perfectly with my Greddy turbo kit.

So I should go with a 10lbs flywheel huh. What clutch would be really good for me. I am planning on boosting 15-17 at the track and 12-13 daily. Hoping to put down 350whp after i get hondata in middle of november? Thanks

hey thats the exact same combo i have, except dont you mean 9 lbs? I wasnt aware toda made an 8 lb for tegs. you're right about the stiffer pedal tho, but not bad at all. i'm still breaking in my clutch so no high revs yet.

did you notice that you can shift out of gear w/o using the pedal @~3k more easily? just an observation i've had lately.

I like the mph to go by quick, not the revvs. it doesn't seem to make it any faster, just revs quicker and falls quicker

That doesn't seem to make sense to me. Since your engine's connected to your wheels, if your revs go up faster, your wheels move faster...........so your mph is going up faster. Right? How could it be otherwise?

it just revs too fast to take advantage of a t3/t04e.
Now I want you to say that out loud. 3 times. Now tell me how in the world that makes any sense at all? It revs to fast to take advantage of a t3/t04e... I have said it 6 times and it still makes no sense.... Rev to fast to take advantage of a turbo.. hmmm... no. No such thing.

i have the clutchmaster stage 4 and it's awesome...it's a little more grabby but the pedal is almost like stock and it does a great job...i plan on using slicks so that's why i skipped stage 3...i can drive my car just fine but when i let my friend with the exedy clutch drive it he jerks it a little until he can adjust...
as for what he was saying about the flywheel being to light i think he meant that it wasn't in boost as long...for example, his car with the lightweight flywheel couldn't take advantage of being in boost because it was out so quick...kinda like the same reason i got an LS transmission in place of my GSR transmission...with the GSR i was in and out of boost really quick (i was shifting into 4th at 84mph vs. the LS shifting to 4th at 101) but with the LS transmission i can sit and be in gear for a longer amount of time therefore taking full advantage of boosting...i didn't think a lightweight flywheel would be bad for my car tho...later

get the flywheel and find out. It honestly just didnt feel like it made the car go any faster, just made first second and most of third gear worthless.

i think the best clutch for the money is clutch specialties
http://www.clutchspecialties.com

i paid about $250 for a 6 puck sprung hub, heavy duty PP, includes all bearings (2) and tax

if you buy the street disc from them, it's actually an ACT street disc since they purchase those from them

Agreed, ACT is great for the money. comes with both bearings and alignment tool.
I have the extreme PP and street/strip disk clutch! wonderful grab but smooth like stock yet harder on the leg.
