Best 70mm TB, what are you using???
What 70mm throttle bodies are you guys using? My application will be for street/strip so I'm looking for one that doesn't stick like my friend's BDL. Also need one that will bolt up to my Victor X for B16 head. Suggestions?

any throttlebody made for a honda application will BOLT up to a victor BUT you will need to open the victor up for a 70mm tb to match it.
ANYHOW im running an STR 70mm tb and love it
buddy of mine runs a blox 70mm with no issues

70mm BBK here... had it for years and a few of my friends have had them as well and none of us have ever had an issue.

I have an Omni 70mm on my skunk2 manifold for my gsr. Cant beat it for $100. The first one I bought had a sticking issue but when I contacted Phearable.net and told them the issue I was having, they sent me a replacement. Works great!

Your maximum amount of flow is determined by the smallest opening through the intake track....for $99 you can get a 70mm omni power throttle body and its more then most people need.

Re: Best 70mm TB, what are you using???
does that mean having 2.5 inch piping to a 70mm throttle body give us a maximum amount of flow of 64mm. 2.5inches is basically equal to 64mm... i wonder if someone has a dyno comparison to justify this... makes since though...
if your running a 70mm throttle body is it pointless unless your running 2 3/4 charge piping because 2 3/4 is basically equal to 70mm?
if you have 3 inch charge piping is it pointless to bottleneck to a 70mm instead of a 76?

If anything, just port the stock unit out a tad.. I don't think it is worth while to buy a TB that will just be prone to sticking and I can save my $99 for something usefull
Allot of testing has been done in the evo world it seems, but not so much over here and I wish there was as I am building a honda right now.

T4 6262, 2.5" hot side, 3" cold side - shooting for 500 - 550whp stock sleeve here, have an ITR TB on it now breaking it in all motor. May just work with that for now.
Will be doing 70mm TB, ported head, skunk2 pro 1/tuner 2 over the next few months so I will post results if I can get a back to back with the TB.
pretty much just mirroring this setup minus the sleeved block: https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/dyno-comparison-skunk2-pro-1s-vs-ctr-camshafts-2520138/

Which of these recommendations retain all the stock vacuum lines and iacv, etc? I notice the victor X TB abandons these which is why I opted not to buy it when I got the manifold.

moved to?
This is misleading then: http://www.edelbrock.com/sportcompac.../tb_vict.shtml
"We eliminated the idle air motor mount and all unnecessary vacuum tubes, making these throttle bodies especially well suited for racing applications"

throttlebody wont nessesarily give you gains/losses. its for better throttle responce. the gains as so minimal. You only need a larger TB when running huge turbos that require larger than 2.5" charge piping and are making north off 800whp
