Benefits of using a GT2560R(GT28R) & GT2860RS on a stock B16 Engine for 300whp
Hi guys.
My little Apexi turbo is running out of steam at top end. I'm getting 252whp and 180lb/ft at about 8psi. I'm looking for a little bit more - possibly 275whp. I'm using a stock b16 block, so don't want to go much higher than this.
I'm thinking about changing to a Garrett GT28R - It's the turbo that comes stock with some Nissan Silvias. (Not the GT28RS)
I'm wondering if anyone has used this turbo. Will it get me a bit more than 252whp?
Thanks.

I was able to acheive 300 whp / 300 ft-lbs with my stock LS at about 21 lbs of boost. It would taper down to about 19. I imagine it might work out pretty good for the smaller displacement of the B16.

No. He got those numbers from a Disco Potato (GT2860RS), not a GT28R.
You'll actually make less power with a GT28R than your RX Apex'i turbocharger.
Give us more information in terms of your purpose and goals of the car (as well as power levels) to determine what smaller framed turbo is a better choice.

I've made 290WHP on a GT28R (707160-5) at 17-18psi on my dohc zc! you'll reach a bit more on your b series for sure!

definitely use the .63 back housing if youre going to t3 hot side
if you stay t25 hot side .86 should be ok from what convos ive had with Mac way back
