Default Bench Racing @ it's finest. What will it take to hit 11' s on Drag Radials?

1995 Civic CX, Full interior, Small Stereo.
2200lbs w/o Driver
LS/VTEC Turbo
225/50-15 bfg G-force drag radials.

What Wheel HP level is going to be needed to get this car into the 11's??

Or should we forget it because it's not going to happen?

Im thinking given a low altitude track and hooking pretty good you should hit 11's with 350-375 hp give or take 25

hmmm... 350-375. That sounds resonable.

I think that 350-375 is kinda low to hit some 11's on street tires I think a more realistic number would be arond 450whp..

Because you have to think about your launch on street tires even with 350whp you are going to have trouble leaving the line without being to bent out of shape so all of your usable power will be from 2nd or 3rd gear up to be able to hit a 11 sec slip...

stOOpid ran a 12.1@118 with a LS/Turbo CX 293whp on boost +35shot nitrous. On drag radials.
12.9@120 on Street tires nito 450's

Here. I found the post.

The pass on the left and the right were made on Nitto NT450s which completely suck *** for drag racing with a 300+hp FWD car. The 12.9 is the best pass on non drag tires, the pass on the right is the best MPH EVER in the car..

The pass in the middle was made on 15" BFG drag radials, we had some problems with the wastegate pipe bolts coming loose, this created a BIG exhaust leak before the turbo and the car sputtered badly, and lost major power right at the 60' and the 1000' marks.. We will get the issue resolved and go hit an 11 on drag radials soon..

The set up is pretty simple...
stock LS (block guard)
CM stage 5
Hondata 4b
440cc injectors
T3 T04B @ 20psi
NX single fogger @ 35 shot

Pics @ http://www.houston-imports.com/~st00pid/lowbudget

300whp on boost only..
The car weighs in at 2425. full interior, roll cage, system, fun fun lil car.

enjoy

This guy ran 11's on drag radials but he used over 530whp to do it...it's hard to get FWD's to run really fast without slicks..

no he made that pass on 18psi and pump gas. he made 528hp on 30psi and C16. whats funny about his car too is that he has lots more room for improvement, he was running an open diff too. w/ LSD and gear based boost i dont see any reason mid-low 11's arent possible.. hehe maybe I should let robby talk about his own car ahah.

im fastenated w/ fast street cars on street tires. FWD's have already proved that they can be a threat on slicks but not many people out there are progressing things on street tires. street tire cars relate more to home for me thats what i like to watch and its more affordable too, haha u dont break as much. I dont think robby had a 2step rev limiter either damn that could help out too.

I did use a 2step at around 5100rpm. As far as gear dependant boost, on the AEM you can set up boost vs. vehicle speed. I unfortunatly never got the bugs worked out of it and always ended up using a manual controller. I did use an old HKS EVC at Joilet and used it as a 2stage boost controller. I would leave the power off and let the wastegate keep boost at 15psi the turn the controller on as soon as I got in third to run 28psi. I liked that setup alot but the car wasn't hooking at all up there. Hope this helps some.

Edit: oh yea, pump gas, 18psi which I estimated to be close to 400whp.

Fat chance dude, maybe on slicks, not on any street tires or drag radials, sorry, the numbers have to be, IMO well over 400 to do this, plus a half decent suspension setup...good luck

Thats where the give or take 25 hp comes it 375 + 25 = 400, that would net you 11's IF you could hook and at a good track. besides its all bench racing, untill you actually do it who cares.

Some hit 11's with 400 hp some need 530 hp depends on too many variables to say "here is the right hp to get you a set time".

Also, with WELL OVER 400 hp as you put it, you would HAVE to have slicks to even think about hooking up.

Bench Racing is just as it sounds I can sit here and say oh I think I can hit 9's with 300 hp...proove it.

It depends what drag radials you use, the BF Goodrichs that st00pid used are way softer than soemthing like the nittos. The BFGs hookup like a slick, very impressive for a street legal tire.

Yes, 225/50-15 BFG's

This car already cut 1.9 60ft with these.

will 225's fit on a 6g civic? I've never tried putting any on a 7 inch wide rim and will they rub?
