bad O2 senor due to imporper location?
I just made a 3 inch down pipe for my turbo setup and installed the O2 sensor about 6 inches from the turbo, It worked great for like 20 mins.. now my car is running all fucked up. Its has a hard time climbing the rpms and my air/fuel ratio gauge is reading lean.. My afc says i'm lean, I bumped the fuel up abit on the afc it seems to help abit but.. My air/fuel reading is always at lean though..
any ideas?? thanks

Maybe it's pushing more power through, and running lean because of the additional fuel need from the new downpipe? I have my o2 on my downpipe about 4-5 inches from the turbo and it works fine.
Hope you figure it out,
Ryan P.

Standard narrowband 02 sensors like to be ran at 600-800 degrees F..
this means moving it farther down the DP.
Heat makes a narrowband 02 read more rich than it actually is
Cooler than operating makes a narrowband read leaner than it actually is.
You either have bad wiring, or toasted your 02 sensor

hmm this is wierd.. It fine now!! I let it idle for like 2-3 mins and started driving agian and riched it up abit now its seems to be fine.. I gained 1.5 psi though.. went from 7.5 to 9!! Then it creeps to 9.5 but never hits ten.. I guess thats fine.

i would recommend mounting it near the same type of location it was n/a. i've got mine mounted in the header before the turbo just like my stock n/a header. when i had it near the cat under the car n/a it would bog at 3k until it really warmed up. putting it at the top of header before turbo eliminated that problem. i get a cel for efficiency since my o2's are so far apart now, but it doesn't affect the performance (no change in timing or fuel). get it dyno'd and you'll probably be ok, but if it was originally at the end of dp before cat i would put it there. the computer expects certain temps etc and it's location will affect it a little, but if you dyno tune it you can tune it wherever it is i'm sure.
