i dont believe that it would be because you are getting rid of reciprocating mass(hp killer) which helps any motor!

it will help spool a little faster,but also fall out of the rpms faster.all this

IT is only bad if you want to put more power to your wheels, the miracle of reducing rotating mass
Also make sure your clutch is rated to rev as high as you want to rev your engine
