Default bad aspects of IC piping popping off while driving?

riding in my friends car and his IC piping popped off and we couldnt get to it since it was behind the bumper and we were almost to his house. finally realized his piping came off on the sides of the iC. reconnected, the car still acts funny and idles like crap (shuts off frequently). what could be the worst things that could've happened as far as damage goes?

The only thing that can happen if your IC piping or couplings comes loose is..NO BOOST. I had the coupling near the compressor come off one time and it just prevented me from boosting.

yea it sucks what that happens, espically if your giving it hell. i was riding in one of my buddys si, and we were at full boost (9 psi on stock b16) when one poped off, and it really makes you relize what a turbo does to your car....i almost hit the ******* dash

Overspin can happen if you drive the car hard enough even once. The wastegate has no input on the boost so it won't open the crack goes your wheel . As far as engine, nothing it'll just be stock NA again

be careful not to push the car when the ic pipe blows off..

You can easily overspin the turbo...

it feals espescially bad because you have the turbo in your exhaust flow. Your car will be much slower with a turbo and no boost than if it was just na.

if you don't have t-bolts for the couplers and are useing worm clamps, try spraying a little hairspray on the piping before you put it back together. it helps the piping slide into the coupler and when it dries it puts a little extra stick on everything.
