B20's ok to Sleeve?
I want to build a B20Vtec Motor and push it for 500 WHP. I've read that when you Sleeve the B20, that they don't seal and coolant leaks into the crankcase. Any words on this?

Right, but I read on another post where you said that makes the Engine run 15 degrees hotter...and while 15 degrees is no big deal, when I'm boosting its going to heat up a good bit.

i believe they charge about 1k to do the B20. slightly less for a B16/B18. but you better call or email them to be sure. there are little to no machine shops who sill sleeve a B20 block with a warranty. GE is your only/best choice if you really want to use that block.
as for the heat....you need to do some cooling system upgrades regardless if it's boosted or not.

i talked to kingmotorsports they told me they do not recommend sleeving b20's due to the diff sleeve design compared to the superior ls guy who i talked to said he built 1 and it cracked a sleeve within 10,000 miles told me to get a ls and sleeve it.

Re: B20's ok to Sleeve?
I'm pretty set on doing a B20 over an LS. A bunch of my friends did an LS and don't want to copy them. If Sleeving a B20 is going to give me nothing but problems, I'll just build an All-Motor B20Vtec or build a Boost B16A to 500 WHP.

King told me i should get an ls sleeve it and bore to 2.1 i would go with b16 or ls i used to be set on b20v allmotor but there sleeve design is totally diff from other b series motors and no matter what they will crack at some time stock or aftermarket. I think the b20 sleeve is one whole peice while the ls has individual sleeves someone correct me if im wrong not hating on your build

Re: B20's ok to Sleeve?
There is a difference between Boring a B20 and Sleeving one. Remember, the sleeves from golden eagle are REPLACING the B20 sleeves entirely. I'm not sure you heard the advice King gave you, but you might be a little confused.
Sleeving a B20 Block is just fine, and would do quite well with the B20 crank and B16 head. I personally have run Golden Eagle since 2001 and still have the car today. wonderful stuff.

They did tell me alot of stuff on the phone i dont know if they where trying to sell me out on one of there builds or what. But they did tell me for a fact that they do not recommend resleeving b20 blocks to there customers. And the part i might not have understood....the b20 sleeve design is one whole piece making it weaker and restricting coolant flow with stock or aftermarket sleeves. and the ls sleeve design are individual pieces(4)after market or stock making them stronger and allowing for better coolant flow???sounds kinda right idk i wish someone could verify this 100%

Re: B20's ok to Sleeve?
I saw someone on here sleeve a B20 with LS Sleeves. It sounded like a bad idea when I clicked on the link, and the pics didn't look good to me.

Re: B20's ok to Sleeve?
I think what im trying to say is b20 sleeves are more prone to sinking or cracking due to the one piece design even with after market sleeves the motor will be strong but a sleeved 2.0 ls will be stronger due to sleeve design

Re: B20's ok to Sleeve?
I'm still stuck on whether or not to go with my orginal goal of a 500 WHP FI B20Vtec, or go with the All-Motor B20Vtec and pull out my B16A to build to 500 WHP.
