Yea you don't need nearly that much time for break in.
The cylinder bores are round, the pistons are round, and the rings are round. Assuming everything was properly assembled it will break in fast. With the advancements in ring materials, crosshatch finishes (yes there are multiple ways to manipulate the crosshatch finish), and piston technologies there's no need for the high mileage babying break in like back in the day.
Do an initial startup on a dedicated break in oil, let the oil get up to temp and let it idle at various rpm levels no higher than 3k for 20-30 minutes, change the oil and filter (still use break in oil), take it to the dyno and do multiple pulls at varying load levels and rpm limits, change the oil and filter again to whatever oil you'll normally use and then tune the damn thing. That's it.
Engines that are broken in this way rarely see leak down test results over 1-3% and if they are tuned properly, maintained properly, and follow some basic rules regarding oil temps and how you drive the car then your engine should last a very long time and never see leak down over 5% unless something breaks.

building my b20b stock sleeves. have cp 9:1 pistons arp stock rods converted to full floating super tech block gaurd arp head studs ported p75 head double springs bc62404s skunk pro series intake out of box. 68mm alpha tb. getting 1000cc injectors for e85 aem 320 fuel pump vms stainless cleanable fuel filter.
needing incite on the turbo kit its self.was thinking of getting a ram horn with 38mm tail waste gate 3" down pipe and exhaust 2.5 inch intercooler piping viberant, misimoto, or cx racing intercooler now as far as turbo goes when pushing 400 it only be at the drag strip.. plan on a pump low boost tune for daily. was thinking borg warner s256sx turbo with .63 ar or a 5431 preision or any other under 800 turbo that wont be laggy. thanks ahead of time. tune will be done by chad barber at barber shop performance in Modesto California so tune wont be a problem.
