JM98EK's 800hp B18b1 Build Suggestions.
Hey everyone , new to honda-tech here but have a 98 ek (my first car) thats just sitting in my yard and I was thinking about making it a drag car (quarter mile) , I also have a b18b1 that needs a rebuild(high mileage but ran fine) ... anyways I was wondering if anyone had done anything around the 800+ hp Mark? This is what I'm thinking so far but please correct me if you know better , Thanks!!
Head : p75 port and polished
Bc stage 2 na cams (maybe even stage 3 na cams in the future?)
Bc dual valve spring and ti retainer kit
(Any advice on valves?)
Arp studs
Edelbrock Victor x intake port matched to head
Fuel: walburo 450lph
Id1700x injectors
Nrg 5 gallon cell
Aem fpr and rail
Either running e85 or race or 93 (not sure which)
Block:
Bored to 84mm
Darton mid wet sleeves
manley turbo tuff Rods
Cp 11.5:1
Acl bearings
Stock crank
B18c oil pump ,water pump and crank dampener
Turbo setup
This is what I'm not to sure about, should I just go with a 6266(.82ar) or will that be to small? Was also looking at the bw s400e turbo
(76mm comp inducer
4.13 compressor wheel od
81.74mm turbine exducer
87.37 turbine wheel od
1.10ar
t4 twin flow turbine inlet
straight compressor outlet) or will that be too big? I'm thinking the 84mm bore will help spool the bigger turbo quicker and it says it's good for 550-1000hp but any suggestions on turbo setup please help

I'm not an expert on the topic so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but from what I understand most people making big power go with a vtec head because it flows so much better.

It's been done, VTEC does more, and you can check the non-VTEC B18B1 Forum to get ideas and check for 800whp. Check it out.

Re: JM98EK's 800hp B18b1 Build Suggestions.
I would run a GSR head..
PTE gen2 6266 would get you there..
Run e98..
id2000's..
Pro 1's would be a pretty good cam..
I would run 10:1 that's just me and it gives your tuner more play room...
ferrea comp plus valves, Ferrea Springs and Retainers...
running ethanol will require a better pump...
twin disk, good gear set..
Just for starters.

Any reason why you want to keep a non-vtec head? If you have the money buy a PPG gearset, if you don't get at the very least a Liberty Face Plated gear set. You basically send your stock gears to Liberty and they will create you dog gears out of your stock setup. They work pretty good in the 700whp range but I didn't take long to destroy my final drive and crack my bell housing.

Another place to check for suggestions from one whose had a 600whp B18B1 setup with the P75 head. He eventually went VTEC despite his good success. He used the Crower 403s specifically made for turbochargers instead of any Brian Crower NA camshaft. That whole "Big NA camshaft" craze is dying off, (thank god) because there are true camshafts made to work specifically with turbochargers.

Oh and if you truly have your heart on building an 800whp plus drag car be ready to spend. It's not about getting 800whp out of a motor, it's about making sure you have all the surrounding parts that make or break these builds.
