B20 vtec TURBO build (NEED HELP!!!)
Alright guys I am very excited about this build. New to this forum, but I thought I'd share what I am doing to get a little insight on my build. Just bought a few things to do a massive boost build. I have an EG SI hatch w/ just the b16a block with a Gsr head (Gsr block blew so I replaced it w/ a b16a (don't ask)). Car has been cut in places to lighten up. Sand blasted n a new paint job done by Maaco. (horrible job, so don't recommend it except if you are cheap and broke at the time like me). I want to have a full build by spring so here goes.
Following parts I have at the moment:
HEAD
1. Stock Gsr obd1 head
2. JG Edelbrock intake manifold
3. Obx Fuel Pressure Regulator/ Switching to AEM
BLOCK
1. B20b block w/ Stage 3 sleeves 84mm built by import builders. (Owner worked with Golden Eagle once and started his own shop) so I guess you can say GE sleeved.
2. 8.5 to 1 compression ratio 85mm Wiseco pistons, so I need to bore block to match pistons
3. Micropolished/balanced b20 crank
4. Gsr arp headstuds
5. B20b oil pan tapped for turbo
6. Acl rod/main bearings
Suspension/Brake/Exhaust System:
1. Tokico gas shocks w/ sprint springs (works ok) (suggestions?)
2. Brembo rotors w/ better brake pads
3. 2.5 Apexi exhaust (cracked)
Things I'm want/doing/getting at the moment: SUGGESTIONS please!!!
1. Getting full race port n polish (getting done by a reputable person)
2. 3 or 5 angle valve job
3. Full Magnaflow exhaust only 2.5 but getting 3" something?
4. New polyurethane bushings
5. Front n Rear Camber Kit
6. Want to put block girdle in for extra protection
7. Eagle rods?
8. Complete valve train, but don't know what to get
9. Turbo? Turbo kit? Definitely a ram horn design exhaust manifold, but what brand? Full Race?
10. Aem ems
11. Msd
12. Etc..................
I need a lot of suggestions and set ups that worked. I am aiming a 400 to 600 plus whp. Let me know what you experts know. I still have a few g's left to spend on the build including labor and I don't like to go cheap, but I do like cheap stuff that performs very very well. Thanks and hope to get a lot of suggestions.

Re: (t04b60-1)
This is costing me a fortune at the moment, but it is all paid and worth it in the end. Let me know what you guys have done to your motor to run those high 500 horses so that maybe I can copy a little of it.

To think of it, I've never thought about a turbo. I guess in my case I want to fully build the motor and then look for a turbo kit, but which one? I might just custom my own. I like the gt35r and have heard a few good things with this turbo. I still have a little more research on which turbo to go with but at them moment just trying to finish the build. I will update and post pictures.

Don't really know Jeff, but that's what I heard. Anyways thanks for the comment. Very reassuring about the build.

Re: B20 vtec TURBO build (VeeL_B20)
definately have a good start.
start off at 84mm, it leaves more room for error in the future. wiseco makes a good piston, but you can run the compression anywhere between 9 and 10:1.
i personally like oem bearings, but the acls will work fine.
what are the spring rates on those sprints? i think you'll need something at least a few hundred lbs/inch to keep a lightened 400+hp car down.
eagle rods will be fine, and you dont need a block girdle.
what kind of rpm limit are you looking toward? itr/skunk/blox cams seem to all have good results, with i think the sks2's yeilding large gains if timed properly. dont spend the money on a full port job, not necessary for your goals. a 3 angle should be done to help clean up the seats.
the magnaflow mufflers are awesome imo, but you will definately need 3". i run a kteller 3" piping kit, no cat with a magnaflow 3" straight through muffler. exhaust is awesome and cost less than 300 bucks because i did all the welding myself.

How do you do that? Never heard of mixing it like that? Interesting. Is there a forum of some sort to explain more of this? Let me know. Thanks.

Hey thanks for this info. Never would of even found out about it. And yeah my dad welds too so I could just give it to him to weld it at his work place. Just wondering on the performance? What is is compared to as in name brand? Same horse gain? This might be a good route to go if it gives good gains. Thanks.
