b20 turbo or b16 turbo?

b20 turbo or b16 turbo?
i have a 99 civic si with a drag turbo kit. i messed up the motor, a valve broke and went through the piston and it f@*&*# up the head. so i am wondering what to do get another b16 or a b20. and put the turbo back on it. will the b20b be faster or the b16. tell me what i should do.

If you go B20 you have to sleeve it. I rather do LS/VTEC. You want your engine to peak real high, but only use half of what it is capable of. If you go B16, you'll be maxing out all the time.

Yeah that's a great answer. Tell the guy that just blew his motor up to go buy expensive aftermarket sleeves (which he probably doesn't need) and spend a few thousand on building his motor so he can blow that up too.
If it's a choice between a B16 and B20, then defintely go with the B16.

You can get an Exospeed sleeved motor built for 2800 bucks. I know in junkyards here a stock B16 shortblock typically goes for 2000 and up, depending on how much it is. For 800 dollars, it might be worth it to move to a built motor.

A B16 shortblock wouldn't even cost close to $2,000 (you need to start shopping somewhere else). You can get a complete B16 swap for that much money, and that's with everything. Your missing the point though. I think this guy needs to figure out how to keep from blowing his engine instead of spending a bunch of money on a built motor.
Oh and if this guy decided to get sleeves, he should go with a B18 because they don't have a funky sleeve design like the b20's and it will cost less to sleeve. Aftermarket sleeves start out at 81mm anyways, so if you want more displacement just bore it out to 84mm. We all know the b20 stock sleeves are crap for turbo anyways, so obviously the B18 woud be a better choice.

If you want some huge numbers I would go with the B20 turbo but you are going to need aftermarket sleeves and probably build your motor which will in the end cost more, so if money ins an issue just get the B16.
