b20 headstuds ?? AEBS? ARP? who?
well i was really looking forward to getting some AEBS headstuds, but it seems like they only offer VTEC head studs. i guess im stuck with the ARP's, however, do they make them for B20s ?? what do you guys recommend. thanks

They use the SAME head. Both are PR4.
Get AEBS studs for the B18. They are superior to ARP's. Just because they haven't been making studs as long as ARP does not make them lesser quality, if anything they are better

in short, some professional motorsport teams (f1, cart, irl, etc.) found traditional "arp style" head studs insufficient for their needs. these teams spend tens of millions each year on r&d alone, and they came up w/ a specifically designed head and main stud. w/ technology gleaned from f1 and the likes, aebs now provides the same design for the masses. this is not to say arp isn't sufficient for your application.

this guy has a B20 not an (f1, cart or irl) motor.
i suggest you contact both companies, tell them what your application is and get their suggestion. compare and decide. asking on HT you'll just get a lot of BS. i don't think anyone on here can give u a good answer on this topic. do the research according to what the company tells you.
BTW, ARP does not suggest that you re-torque the studs. i called them before buying and installing mine.

The average joe isn't going to notice the difference other than price.
Our going rates are:
AEBS $105
ARP $120
I think you will find that the AEBS studs are priced slightly lower than the ARP regardless of where you go.

<-- arp headstuds @ 70 ft-lbs from march - now on my b18b, holds 12psi-1 bar daily on 94, never retorqued...
i dont really think it makes that big of a difference..worry about if u want a t66 ball bearing or not
