Re: b18c5 + boost + standalone = shed some light (Ichitech)
I'm running 7 psi on my stock bottom B18C5 and so far (a whopping 300 miles) everything's checkin out ok. Boosting through 3rd gear gets my EGT's to about 1400F. He just has to be careful and tune it well. Use larger injectors than he thinks he should (i'm into 440's now, probly goin with 550's in the near future just for safety's sake) and again, tune it. With proper tuning I'm hoping to hit about 10 psi on pump gas (I've just got Hondata 3B and some combustion chamber work by Portflow to help ward off detonation - no hot spots). My goal is 300 whp on pump gas on the stock block but... make no mistake, I will be rebuilding this thing with new pistons, rods, rings, sleeves to make more horsepower. However, even when I rebuild, I WILL NOT go under 10:1. Just my $.02, EV.
