B18c1 stock internals build

Hey I'm logan! I'm new to this site. I have a 92 eg hatch with a 94 b18c1 swap with around 155k miles on it. I have basic bolt ons cai, stage 2 clutch skunk2 gen 1 intake mani, type r rep header, p28 chipped ecu and a dyno tune. It made 148whp. I had a exhaust leak and oil leak that was coming from between head and block where head gasket tab is. I thought it was vtec solenoid, cam seal, or dizzy o ring. Turns out it's none of those. I wanna build a reliable weekend street car. My close buddy got a b series turbo kit. He's offering me Garrett t3/t4 60 trim, tial wastegate, hks bov, brand name manifold, custom downpipe, aem fuel rail, precision 450cc injectors, and no name intercooler for $500. I wanna jump on this and get ARP head studs with a cometic head gasket. I'm wondering what your thought are?? I'd get gauges for cheap, I'm looking for 200-250whp. Is this reliable?

psi isnt a measurement of power for starters.
a head gasket with new head studs isnt a 10hr job, if it takes your mechanic that long to do that, then i would go else where. post pics of this kit your friend has in full detail and find out the condition of that turbo. i highly advice you read FAQS as well, spoon feeding isnt allowed here so just be aware.

oh yeah, do a leak down adn compression test before you do anything to that motor.

You don't need a new gasket or ARPs, unless the maintenance calls for it. And if you do change, stay with OEM. No Cometic, no eBay. Do the compression and leakdown test as suggested

I know that psi isn't a measure of power.. I'm hoping to make 200-250whp on stock internals safely. I just want a low boost fun weekend driver. Thanks for the reply!

I'm telling Civichatch301 this. Not you, sir. Especially for that particular power goal. That's a matter for the tuner. As long as the car is mechanically sound, there's no real insurance benefit to gain from it. The head shouldn't lift either way.
You're talking to a guy who had a bone stock GS-R making over 300whp in 2000. No Hondata, no ARP, No Cometic, nothing but an old GReddy blue box from back in the day. ;)

^ Low 300s is fairly common on turbo B series.

Consider finding a new tuner. Unless your engine has compression loss or leakdown you should have made at least 15whp more than that. And that's with me assuming it was a Mustang dyno, and not a Dynojet.

i had a exhaust leak and yes it was a mustang dyno
