Hey everyone i'm having some smoke issues on my Ek coupe.The car has a 96 b18c on Boost, the car run's really good and idles perfect without shaking nor noises the problem is that its throwing lots of white smoke from the valve cover and smokes from the exhaust sometimes while driving around, at idle i'll never smoke but when i go run it i'll smoke also i seem to be getting a little pool of oil on the mouth of my turbo after a few hard passes.The car runs really hard.BTW i was told it had type r internals which could be bad for boost. this problem all started after i got it street tuned. i'v been going crazy trying to figure out this problem. also the head gasket is not blown cause the coolant lvl hasent dropped a bit since i last checked it and it wont bubble up while the car is running.iv also checked my pcv valve and they seem to be fine, its also throwing white smoke from the black box when i removed the pcv. any helpful hints will be greatly appreciated thakz.

btw oil is black and has not been changed for a while.

Oil at mouth of turbo? Blown turbo seals. For boosted cars the oil needs to be changed far more frequently than usual. Also sounds like you're getting head lift. Need some ARPs. You'll probably blow the engine soon. Sounds like you beat up on it frequently.

Sounds typical of head lift to me. You running a restrictor on the feed line?

not that i know of il check that out tommarow when its day time. how could i tell if its got a resistor?do i have to remove the line?

Restrictor. It goes inline with the oil feed line and prevents too much pressure from getting to the turbo which in turn keeps the oil seals from blowing out. Got one on my 15G. Never have had an issue with the seals. If your seals are blown you'll have to get the turbo rebuilt.

What turbo set up is on there?

monster twisted ram manifold t3t4 with an ebay turbo and a tail wastegate.

No intercooler? Can't see it I mean. Can't see a BOV either.

the bov is right in front of the msd the inner cooler is large but its deeper inside the bumper lol so you cant see it at nite sleeper lol


BTW ima do a compression test soon and il hit you up the numbers

nope.... but man i took er out for a spin last nite and called out a big turbo srt with bolt on's he said it never lost to a honda so we get on the high way to do a 40 roll and when we took off my bro that was driving rev'ed it to 10k+ while in 3rd i think and when he shifted to fourth it started bogging and i knew there was something wrong..... we also smoked the srt by like 4 to 5 cars so we pulled over and the valve cover gasket blew and the whole engine bay was soaked in black oil even the front windshield had oil so we put half a quart in and push started it off the high way and went back home with A HUGE CLOUD OF WHITE SMOKE so the car had no oil and it was smoking everywhere. 40mph on the high way in 5th gear and it started dieing going up a little hill then i hurd a knocking noise and my bro shut the car off and pulled over to the side...... there was a tow truck that had been following us for a few miles that helped us and got it towed home for 50 bucks ......FML
hey at least we won the race!!.....hope the motor recovers im gonna do a compression test tomarrow to see whats up...

No oil+Driving it=rod bearing or main bearing failure. Since you said you heard a kno k and it lost power sounds like a rod bearing to me. Do you have a oil pressure gauge in your car.
Seems to me that you went in this blind and don't have the proper setup you need. Just my.02

true i attempted to do a compression test and failed i dont think the motor was cranking sufficient to do it idk il do it some other day. well if anything is blown internally i'll be forced to rebuild it to push over 400hp

I happen to me and my freinds before I am pretty sure that your piston are **** like you need new piston I am pretty sure your pistons has cracks on them Take it apart and look pretty sure you have crack piston on the side of piston!!!!!!

So I'm right where he is at before the srt race, with a similar setup. I have the smoking and a lot of extra noise. B20 with an eBay t3t4 setup 8lbs. Stock motor. What do I do from here to save the motor?
