Default B18b1 turbo owners... What's your fuel management. Need advice.

Hi. I am in the midst of slappin' a turbo in my civic. I have a 95 ls motor. I have everything now except for fuel management. It is a stock bottom end (for now).

My kit is basically a custom equal length top mount, t3/t04e .57/.63 garret turbo, 38mm tial, blitz, huge spearco... just to throw out some specs.

Now I need management. The plan was a p06 chipped for uberdata, but i have heard some negativeity towards this inexpensive route. I am starting to lean towards a chipped po6(or p75) with a hondata s200. I will probably leave the tuning up to my local friend/tuner who also urges me to get hondata. What would be the best route? What do i really need regarding boost option, s100/s200/s200b, datalogging, zif, chips? Looking for some advice before I blow 5-600$ and find myself lost. (suprisingly, searching did't retrieve anything usefull)

Thanks

If you're not tuning it yourself, listen to and use whatever whoever is tuning it tells you to.

I'm running a stock B18B with a T3/T04B and Hondata S200 w/ boost. I believe they come with 3-step and datalogging standard now. Your tuner should have all the equipment to burn chips. If you're not going to be boosted for a while, you might want to wait for the S300, since it looks pretty nice (http://hondata.com/s300.html).

That s300 looks pretty versatile. I really need to find a tuner in my area. Anyone know a good tuner in the connecticut area?

i run uberdata that i street tuned. my fuel setup is 550cc injectors, a walbro 255 intank and an lm-1 wideband.

blundar does make a very good point about listening and trusting your tuner.

Yea. I agree. I need to find an experienced tuner that I can trust and help me milk as much horsepower as possible unde safe conditions. I looked into uberdata but I dont think that will get me to my full potential. When I say me, I mean ME... in which i would be tuning, and unfortunatley there are not too many tuners that work with uerdata.
I too am using rc 550's and a walbro 255lph hp. Im suprised that your only making 234hp at 10 psi. That seems low. I would expect 270whp at least.

Keep the suggestions coming. Thanks alot guys

s300 not out yet.
when it comes out it will be the best option for the money for a street driven forced induction honda. only issue with neptune is you are limited to a few tuners and for now is TOO proprietary not allowing a user to diy.

Not for long... and the user tunable version will have comparable (maybe better) hardware/more software features and cost a nice chunk less than the s300...

I'm using uberdata on my setup. Stock b18b engine with SC50 turbo @ 10psi netted me 260whp.

ya i was expecting more as well. my motor is a 210k mile oil burning pos tho, i got ripped off when i bought it and im suprised its still alive hehe.

it says you are in connecticut. i believe synapse motorsports up by albany ny does tune uberdata, and i know that boosted hybrid in pa does amazing work with hondata/neptune and such. there are also a few places in nyc who tune, you might just have to drive a little...

im willing to drive. I already drive about 800 miles a week..eh.. I really want to find a tuner and get some advice. That is my best bet. I think im gonna do some more reasearch on uberdata though. I am lost in a cloud of options. I have about 600$ to play with and i want to get this thing runnning optimal and safe. Thanks. Keep the idea's coming. This is really helping me get an idea of what "everyone else" is using.

I live in Hartford area and I drove to PA for Jeff to tune my car with Neptune. I would only recommend Neptune and Jeff Evans (boosted hybrid)

Dude, run CROME. Xenocron offered to tune it for you (for a price) Having him chip and tune your ECU will be cheaper then any Hondata setup and even then you still have to pay to get it tuned. You wont be disappointed with crome. BTW your going to love the 57. 63. turbine. On my B20 it hits 7lbs around 4100rpm and it hits HARD.... I love turbo lag, cause I actually get traction out of the hole, (If I ease out the clutch, which if you want to win races you'll do the same cause otherwise you just spin all the way into 3rd ) then I hit full boost and the race is over! lol. Good luck
