Default B18B1 + SOHC Greddy kit + DSM IC + more... read

Look @ my setup:
B18B1, SOHC Greddy kit fitted for B-series, DSM IC, using Greddy Blue Box, boosting up to 8psi, 6" x 9" Oil Cooler, Double Core Del Sol radiator, stock LS injectors & stock DX fuel pump. Oh, the oil pump will be upgraded to the one from GSR. Exhaust is 2.5" mandrell bent.
What's wrong with this setup?
Will double core radiator be sufficient to cool the engine?
Is DX fuel pump adequate?
What type os spark plugs should I use?
Any suggestions? Should I change anything?
Please give me your feedback.
Thanx!
Yuri K

it would be very wise to upgrade the fuel system, I don't have a lot of experience w/blue box so I don't know how it'll react to the upgrades but it's something to look into.

1) bov
2) get larger piping
3) radiator is fine for what you have and you power range
4) walbro 225 or 195 fuel pump (the next thing you really need to get)
5) stock injectors will be okay.
6) FPR
7) boost gauge
8) oil pressure gauge
9) air fuel gauge(autometer is not the best but okay)
10)ditch the Greddy blue box and get hondata... tunning will give you more power.

1) forgot to mention, got Greddy Type S BOV
2) larger piping? Exhaust piping? Isn't 2.5" exhaust sufficient for 8psi?
6) already have B&M FPR w/gauge
8) been thinking about getting the oil pressure gauge...
10) out of price range
EGT gauge, would that add some safety to the system? Is it worth to add?
Speaking of tuning, what can be tuned? Fuel pressure, igniton timing, what else?
Thanx for the reply,
Yuri K

larger piping meaning charge piping because the B18 trottlebody size is different from the D16 tb.
*2.5 is good enough for 8psi, but when you punch on the power (ex: when you down shift) I'm unsure if you'r gonna get some boost spike/creep or not. But it sould be safe.
* the EGT is not nessary like the oil pressure gauge, but it's really conferting to have your eye on somthing that is monitoring the funtions of your motor.
*dude.... save up for the hondata it's only like 500 shipped and installed. You won't regret it man. Seriously with turbo engine management is vital. I'd rather send $500 on hondata before i spend $500 on a intercooler. Spend your money on hondata. I'm sure you & everyone will agree when i say this:
".... I'd rather be boosting stock 5.5psi tunned with hondata, than be able to run 10psi with just the e-manage and fmu. Having your car run as best as possible all the time is better than having to worry about if the car is gonna blow up when you down shift or race. Spend money on tunning."
Remember just because you can run 8psi doesn't mean jack **** if it isn't tunned right. You could find yourself in a situation kicking yourself and wondering WTF just happened when some kid with a 4door civic, stock sohc vtec and the greddy kit, w/o intercooler, sleeper car, with a baby seat in the back, boosting at only 6psi, smokes you in all gears. get my drift... tunning is the keep that's why is expensive at respectable shops and why not everyone/shop with a dyno mean they know how to tune a car to it's max potential.

Ok. This is what I would do Yuri.
Ditch the blue box and go with an FMU. If you plan on boosting 8 psi I would suggest that you get larger injectors---with a 12:1 your fuel pressure will be 96+stock pressure=130ish.......which brings me to another point. The fuel pump should be a high pressure inline IF you stay with the 240cc LS (all B the same) injectors. What happened to the 310's that come with the Greddy kit?????
Key setup would be the AFC hack with dsm 450's.

Not really sure what the charge piping diameter is, but whatever it is, it should be fine.
You probably want to construct a better downpipe--its a drinking straw.
Cooling will be no problem at all. Oil cooler is a nice addition.

You mentioned that hondata is out of your price range. After turbo is installed this should be your first upgrade. No need for anything above a 2B. I can tune it for you since I have a 4B and a FJO wideband available to me.

Nice to see your going to the darkside. Hopefully we will get a chance to meet one of these days. Im going to ATCO this weekend....you should come!
