B18b1, .63 or .82ar? Whos running .82ar
My goal is ~400whp, or as far as my stock head will take me.
I recently sold my 60/.48ar turbo and looking to buy another 60 with a .63 or .82ar side.
My redline will be about 7200rpms (stock valve train)
I am having issues finding a 60 trim with a .63ar side in my price range and with the specs I want (t3, 4 bolt)
I did find a 60 trim with a .82ar hot side t3, 4 bolt. I am wondering if I would be okay running this. I understand I will have more lag, but also assuming I will have better top end, which is what I want.
Any opinions/info would be appreciated!

Um on my semi built ls head, stock B20z bottom, GSR tranny I didn't hit full boost til 6k with my .81a/r hot side precision 6766s turbo. My redline was 8k lol no powerband whatsoever. I'm glad I sold it lol got another precision turbo this time with a .63a/r hot side and I'm loving it. I saw about 7psi at 4 grand, didn't go past that cus I'm on a basemap. But my point is, don't go .81a/r unless your sleeved and fully built bottom end. Eh but that's just my opinion...

Thanks. I definitely don't want to wait until 6k rpms for full boost. Is it full boost, or peak horsepower? I think some people get these mixed up

i really wouldnt do it. from my experience on ls's and similar sized turbos you will be looking at your full boost to make 400whp pretty good into the 5000 rpm range. unless you have a b16/itr trans you could fall out of boost/powerband if you are shifting at 7200

My .63 GT3076R makes boost so fast it really doesn't even feel like a turbo car. Instant boost, instant pull, no noticeable lag.

Stick to .63 a/r housings. Will give you a better range of power with an LS head.
x2 on 3076 or 5858 for that power level.

...sorry EDIT my post,,yes stock cams...for now..this is why i cant get more than 420whp.....money is the key!!!the block is fully built(sleeve, piston etc)and the head crower spring, retainers valves on a good porting job on both sides
so this is why i got 12 psi at 5300 rpm..(stock cams) my tunner said the only way to pass 450 whp is to get crower cams,,whit my 5858 .63a/r it will be killer

Not to thread jack, sorry....but I have learned to buy things once. I have 1000cc injectors, a bigger turbo than I need but works great at this power level, and more clutch than I need. I want to make more power later and didn't want to have to buy everything again. My turbo kit and fuel system should be good for 450whp+
