B18B tunning questions....with a Zdyne.
Ok first off I am getting ready to do some tunning on my car this weekend. I should have my wideband meter setup. I plan to run about 10-12 psi on a stock LS engine. My target A/F under boost will be 12:1. Now I know timming isn't as critical as A/F when making power. First question about timming is this.
On the Zdyne tables it list timming in BTDC units. So if it's saying 16 degree's BTDC is that total timming? Or do I need to add the amount above base timming onto that #? Say base timming for the B18B is 16 degree BTDC. I have it set to 17. Does thst mean that my timming is the value on the table + 1? I pan to set my timming to stock. Just wondering about that though
Next question is where do I want to see my timming under boost? Say at 5 psi adn then at 10 psi @ 5000 RPM's? I have the program set to take out .8 degree's/PSI
The table I am using is a B16 table and one thing about the B18 vs B16 is the B18 has a faster pistion speed at the same RPM because of the longer stroke. I would assume then that you need alittle more advance on the B18 over B16.
So any advice would be great. Wish me luck!

Your base timing at idle and your base timing at the timing belt should equal
15.1 is mine, and we set the engine to 15 at idle to correlate.
Then you simply put numbers into the zdyne, and if you were looking at the marks on the crank with a timinggun at whatever you set it to, that's what it would be.
Capiche?
