B17A bored and sleeved to 84.5mmm good for FI?????
I am going to use JE pistons(9.5:1), Crower rods, and iron sleeves with my stock B17A crank. This should yield about 1.9L (?). Anyone see why this bottom end shouldn't be able to produce
350 w.h.p. at high boost?
TIA

Do you see any problems with this setup? I might have to modify my JE pistons from my B20 setup to work in the shorter deck B20

This is one of the factors I have yet to figure out. What do you suggest?

its sounds like a nice setup, honestly but you're changing the b17 significantly by having a bigger bore than the stock stroke which can have repurcussions.

Does anyone know details of why I shouldn't have the setup this way?

get it resleeved to 84.5mm by golden eagle and you should be fine. I dont know the stock deck height of the B17A nor the stock compression height, distance from center of wrist pin to top of piston deck(not including the dome of course), of the pistons you are going to try to use. You will have to know those two numbers and stroke(81.4mm) to find what rod length you should use. Do some research and find those numbers. Then I can help further.

you might have a 84 mm B17 block with super-double-wack sleeves but it’s not the equivalent of a B20b/z block with its thicker walls and the same sleeves.
