B16A Rev Limit and control by other ECU
I'm pretty sure the fuel cut on a First Generation B16 is 8300... I would guess that nothing needs to be done to rev to 8500, but what would need to be changed to reach 9000? Is it just new valve springs? More specifically, just the inner ones??
Also, I'm still running obd2 (yuck), so until I decide to either convert my harness to OBD1, or just get AEM, I need to get another ECM.
Instead of running an OBD2 B16 ECM, what would the difference be if I ran a Type-R or other 1.8L ECM? I know at part throttle, the ecu tries to tune to 14.7 a/f ratio anyway, so it really should only make a difference at WOT, right? I have an SMC, and 450cc injectors, and just wondering if the extra fuel would help any.
Any suggestions? Oh yeah, do the different ECMs have any timing differences??
