Default b16 turbo retune questions c16

got the following setup on my drag car:
stock b16a with headstuds and cosmetic 3mm head gasket
skunk intake manifold
log manifold
60-1 turbo
rc 750s
precision 600hp intercooler
2.5 inch piping
25 inch slicks (overkill but pulled 1.8 60foot)

last time i got the car tuned at 8psi on 93 octane and i didnt have the headstuds, head gasket and intake manifold. car made 242whp and ive ran a best of 8.3 in the 1/8 mile, now added headstuds, head gasket and skunk intake manifold and i would like to turn up the boost.
My question is, you guys think i should tune on c16 and try to push the stock block past 350whp or should i just tune again on 93 octane and make around 300whp?
How safe would it be 350whp+ on stock block tuned on c16?
just to let you know i drive this car to the track and back.

any input appreciated.

I say retune for 300hp on 93, see how you like it then from there decide if you want to up the boost even more. I'm sure you should though with that turbo at 8psi it's barely breathing. Get any in-car vids of your car yet?

that works! everyday I wake up I just look at my 60-1 sitting on the shelf, bills are coming first so hopefully I will get to put it to use someday. Hows the top end on the turbo? Does the power come in like a on/off switch? I have a b16 as well.

the top end is crazy, it is a little laggy but once it hits its over and thats only at 8psi.
at the track i feel almost any lag, and the power comes in like a switch. the b16 is definitely bad below 4k rpms, but if you keep it revving its awesome.

gotcha! when the turbo came in the mail, I was like this thing looks alot bigger than it did in the pictures on Garretts website. Good luck with the setup though man, can't wait to see some new numbers and vids! Keep up the good work.

Why would you need C16 for 350whp? People make 400+ on B18's with 93 I dont see why 400whp is out of the question on C16 with your B16, I would think it could hold it fine as long as the motor is in good shape. 350whp on your B16 with pump shouldnt even be a worry IMO

i might push it, pulled the head out today and motor looks NEWWW, i should mention that i bought the swap from hmotorsonline and guaranteed it had less than 30k miles, and looks like it. Just found out today that c16 is $15.80 per gallon, if i use it i better take advantage of it.
thanks for support

I dont think you need C16, I would think anything even in the 100-110 octane range would be more than sufficient. Or you can try E85 if it is in your area, but you will need to get bigger injectors.

+1 for e85, if available in your area.

its 1.53 here in portland, and its 105-106 octane. cant beat that. also has 300 degree cooler egt's.

or if you can be a baller, get your hands on some e98, 129 motor octane.

do you know what c16 does? its full of lead and screws up sensors and cats, not to mention the 50k fine in some states if found drivin on tha streets.

you can make much more than 350 on 93 octane. low to mid 400s is definately attainable.

Haha. Thats great. Does it weigh the car down more than regular petrol with all that lead in it?

OP, I say get it retuned on 93 at 10psi. Then you can make another map for race gas and higher boost for track sessions.

i have a walbro 255lph, rc 750s and aem fuel rail, so i dont think i will need to upgrade the fuel system.
like i said before i dont drive the car on the street, i store it on my warehouse and take it to the track that is about 5 min drive from the warehouse.
Lots of things to consider

With that headgasket your compression will be around 8.5 or below, your good to make 350-375 on 93 octane no problem, i am making 340whp on 91 octane with similar compression and stock honda pistons/rods in a b16...

ya if i was you go e85 on stock block cause with that power you dont want to get one batch of bad gas on 93 and boom motor done with e85 you have alot of room but it just take my injector to run the car with 750 should prolly make your goal outa it

got off the dyno a couple of ours ago, tuned on 93oct and got 325whp and 22X torque at 13psi out of the b16. The tuner said better to stay on the safe side but that 70whp difference is crazy :O.
will be hitting the track sunday and hoping for a 7.5 pass on the 1/8th.
I have a couple of vids in my camera and will post tomorrow.
