i'm 90% sure most mustang dyno's put out slightly lower numbers then dynojet dynos. Also it really is all in the tuning for a turbo kit, if he just slapped that bad boy on dont expect massive numbers, but they do seem a little low to me. Try and take it to a tuner and change the timing and your cam gears if you have them. And by all means get a hondata if you can swing it and i'm sure he would get better numbers.

That is about the same numbers I saw on a mustang dyno. 205hp and 150ft/lbs@10psi.
I want to run it on a dynojet in my area soon. A guy with a turbo mustang made 450hp on the Mustang dyno that my car was measured on, and 550 on a dynojet dyno.

I made 277.4 whp and ~222 ft/lbs of torque on a mustang dyno @9.5 psi. Does anyone have any idea what this equates to on a clayton chasis dyno? My car feels ALOT stronger than 277 @ the wheels. I heard that they (Mustang dyno) are less accurate but Im not sure if thats true or not.

Mustang dyno's dont really change the hp ratings that drastically. Maybe only about 5% at most.
Ask boosted3g about them. He uses a mustang dyno at his shop in harrisburg, pa. I belive his car (built ls) put out around 450 on the mustang dyno---so does this mean that he has 550+??!?!? Well I know he was hoping 500+ w/methanol--so does he really have 600+??!?!?
The mustang/dynojet is a bunch of hype. If you take your car to 2 different dynojet dyno's at 2 different shops I can gaurantee you that you will have 2 different hp/tq numbers. It depends on how the shop has them setup, how old they are, etc.

Hmm...does it matter what gear the pull was made in? My pulls were in 4th gear.
Oh, and the guy that owned the mustang dyno I was on said the difference between dynojets and mustang dyno are definitly more then 5%.
A mustang dyno simulates real driving by putting load on the engine. With a dyno jet a car simply accelerates a drum of known dimension and mass...

Hi Josh....
The temperature that day was well over 30 celcius, It was a conservative tune- afr's in the mid 11's, and I didnt go nuts with the timing. His baseline was 142 hp at 10 lbs. There's more there but the reliability will be alot better the way it's set up now.

Dunno if my dyno was F&($ up also.
8psi dynoed 238hp and 217tq
10psi dynoed 272hp and 238tq
Stock b18b motor with a .58 t3/t4 turbo and .48exhaust side.
well that setup has been sold.

MAN thats crappy, you would think that the Board Of Weights And Measures would get involved and have some sort of calibration thing going on here

It's no the dyno, it's the tuning, the parts, or hurt motor. But don't blame the dyno. That is the easy way out. There are so many variables to making a turbo honda fast especially on a factory computer. Is that turbo capable of the horsepower numbers you are looking for? Some turbos are more efficient at low boost while other require higher boost pressure to make the hp. Are you using some sort of fuel computer to adjust the tuning. Pump and regulator is not going to cut it. The minimum you will need is a VAFC or e-manage. Of course stand alone will allow you to tune to it's maximum potential. Also the guy tuning your car, is he familiar with tuning turbo hondas. A turbo on the car will not make big horsepower, it is all about the tune. So don't blame the dyno, it don't lie unless you are using a piece of **** old school clayton.

stock B18B pushing only 7psi i got 204.2 hp / 182ft lbs. tq. what a difference a dyno and tunning makes.
