B16 main girdle necessary??
Lookin for answers on wether or not to get a main girdle for my turbo b16. Has golden eagle 84mm sleeves, cp pistons, manley rods and built head. Anyone made high hp on this motor without a girdle??

they aren't mandatory, most choose to run them out of personal preference... using the gsr girdle or erls 5 point girdle is what most use, the latter for high rpm, high hp setups but Honda's block and maincap design is more than enough for most builds.

I went with the ERL girdle on my dart talldeck - mostly for peace of mind since I had a 95mm crank and talldeck.
But you have to have it dowell pinned and align honed, so there's additional costs associated with the girdle as well.
