We are looking into the Turbo and e-management system.
I have been told by some shops to go with the GT35-82R.

Based on my current set up what do you think about the size for the turbo?

Car will mainly be driven on the street and very long straights. We just want ***** to the wall power..

Also clutch applications?

What types of management systems would work well with what we have?

We have been out of the sceen for a while thats why we are asking some basic questions.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Here are some pics of the build.

Cheers

wow, looks really good. this thing should absolutely MOVE a CRX!!! personally i would recommend a gt35r like you stated. it should give you the spool for the street and the "***** to the wall" power, lol. i would also recommend the Hondata s300, although i have no personal experience with it, i know someone who has had great success thus far, at a fraction of the EMS' cost (also heard e-manage is garbage, again no personal experience, just hearsay, but the dude was a tuner, soo...). There are a million different options out there for turbo systems, i just reccomend doing you research (though it looks like you already have!!) . definately in for updates

edit: forgot to mention, depending on the power youre looking to make, you may have some slippage issues with anything other than a twin disk, even tho they can be somewhat of a bitch on the street...i know competition clutch and exedy both sell a fairly competitve twin disk setup...

there is obviously i alot i have to learn but, clutches are hp speciic ya know.
Multi-plate clutches are basically a pain in the A for everyday drive.
Single plate is what you want.

Well and fuel deliver is its own beast. I would refer you to hondata s300.imho.

This is basically my build, b16a2 sleeved out 2.0, but im sticking to oem rods. let me know if you have any questions. btw, i dont claim to know everything..

i would use a ACT 4 puck stage 4 clutch with an ACT XXX pressure plate or even xtreme pressure plate. i did a really similar setup to yours- 84mm aebs sleeves, pauter rods, cp 9:1 pistons, skunk2 valves, springs, retainers, edlebrock manifold, but i used a garrett 60-1 t3 turbo. i kinda wish i wouldve got a gt35r but everyone and there mom has one now =/
check it out tho

CAn somebody tell my how the thing with the copper rings work? Do you still have to use a headgasket? How will the water and oilpassages be sealed (I mean between deck and head)

I often heared obout the rings but never looked deeper into this topic.

Thanks

you still use a headgasket, it just seals every imperfection so that no combustion will leak out, they work really well.

Thanks for the props..

I was looking at the Hondata 300 unit and for the price it seems like it will cover a lot of basic needs. The ACT clutch we wlooked at the 3 or 4 puck clutch, I am trying to stay away from the twin disc.

What do you guys think about the stock LSD in this tranny. So people have great luck with them, I don't feel like spending the money on a Qualfire.

Other then the Drive Shaft Shop, what are some places you've got axels that are good quality?

Also when the build is complete we will post everything step by step as pics were taken with notes to each one.

Your stock LSD should be fine, and I'd suggest ACT XTR6 or XTR4 as well, both are rated for 408ftlbs, and the XXR6 or XXR4 are rated for 487ftlbs...
And just so you know, ACT clutches are under-rated, they will hold a lot higher than specified.........

the hondata s300 is a very good unit, im running the s200 currently. a lot of people say neptune is good too, but im unfamiliar with it.
as far as ACT clutches, i would run a 4 puck if you want it to grab good and a XXX pressure plate. if you want it to grab pretty good and still be a little bit more streetable, get the 6 puck stage 3 unsprung clutch and Xtreme pressure plate. the 4 puck is still streetable, its just a really rough clutch (sucks to be stuck in traffic with).
i have seen a lot of people have problems with the stock LSD if theyre racing around and have a decent clutch (stage 2+). if your LSD goes, it can really damage your transmission. i would go with quaife if you have the money, or run the stock LSD and check it in 6 monthes and if youre having problems with it, and cant afford or dont want to use quaife, just get the phantom grip lsd
and you only really need axles (IMHO) if youre running 500whp daily or if you run it at the track with slicks or deflated BFG's

i might suggest giving the boys at full race a call, a setup like that deserves the best stuff. everybody's starting to big on neptune now latest and greatest for this week. dss axles are very nice, well worth the money, unless your good at swapping out axles when they break. gt35r would probably be the best choice, gt3071r if you lookin for a little less power. 500hp is fun on the drag strip with slicks, and the freeway oh yeah. stop light to stop light youll get smoked by at metro. but it would be a cool smoke show. good luck with the rest.

I would highly suggest going to NEUKIN for your turbo needs!! They'll be able to set you up with what you need... Manifolds are sick too!!!!

I think we are going to go with the GT3582R, we really don't care about short runs. Long turns are so much rewarding. I have also heard some good things about the DSS axels but they are costly, but probably the best choice. The hondata 300 we have been looking at that now and really like what it has to offer. Well it also looks like it's time to order the Qualfire.

I might also add that if your a reputable dealer of products needed please IM me on deals you may have with prices. That's one of the reason I am on here to buy from the people who support and help others. It also shows me you want my business. I have bought most of my stuff from H-T members.

Do you think the MSD Pro Billet dist would work on my set up?

Thanks again, J

it would work yea, but it wouldnt really benefit you imo. youre better off running the stock distributor and using a digital 6al or digital 7 ignition system with a blaster ss coil or hvc.
as far as purchasing a turbo, i have done a very similar setup to yours and ive invested over $8k so far (still need intake mani, throttle body, charge piping, turbo manifold, downpipe and dumptube) and the only companies i would trust my motor with for my needs are peakboost and arizona forced induction. no pun intended to any of the smaller guys are other companies, im not saying that their products are bad by any means.

I looked into the ignition and that may look like a better application. What about the wiring harness. Where is a good place to get that done?

I am also waiting on IM's if you carry anything else I need to purchase.

Cheers, J

find a good reputable tuner near you find out what ems he tunes...then go with that. As far as the gt35r...stick with that...youll be plenty happy. I dont know what alot of you are saying about twin disks not being streetable. I have heard nothing but good things on twin disks and the streets. I have a tilton twin when my stock clutch finally fails me. Have you already purchased your exhaust? If so then all well, but if not go with some 3" stuff from kteller with magnaflow oval es muffler. Your car will breath much better.
