B16 Build 400+ goal. Let's see if i can get it.
Hey Guys, just sharing my build. I got the motor through a trade, but needed to be rebuilt because last guy chipped the piston and put a chip in cylinder #2. I decided i've never messed with boost, so i rebuilt it. I got the complete motor from the kid, and refreshed everything. Nothing to crazy, just simple boost build..
(MOTOR)
B16 Dart Sleeves (82.5mm after bore to fix)
Scat rods w/ARP rod bolts
CP Pistons 9:1
Clevite Bearings
Cometic head gasket
ARP headstuds
B16 head with Full Supertech valve train
Edelbrock Victor X intake manifold
Skunk2 65mm TB
Stock B16 crank, micro polished, checked.
Stock GSR cams
Moroso Oil pan
New Valve seals
New OEM oil pump and pick up
All new OEM gaskets
-BES Racing Shop Balanced, clearances checked, (rotating assembly)
I assembled the rest.

GSR with brand new Mfactory Helical LSD
stock flywheel
Competition Stage 4 Clutch
(Turbo)
AFI Ramhorn
Tial Waste gate
Tial 50mm BOV
Garret T3/T04E 57trim
Custom Downpipe and intercooler piping

93 Octane

Aeromotive A1000 FPR
Precision 1000cc injectors

Goals Shooting for 400-500HP, Guy that had motor before me with some junk parts made 423hp. Some junk mini ramhorn, intake manifold just to name some. I know I'm probably missing few things, ill update as i go.

That's a pretty stout setup buddy. I would go SC61 at bare minimum. I'm building a b16a2. without sleeves and less head work but with a sc6262. I'm looking to make 475whp.

That turbo will reach 400 but i would agree on going a bit larger to reach 500whp just so the turbo isnt maxed out. Especially if you want a little wiggle room for more power. Motor looks gorgeous tho and I really like the blue. Great job

Thanks guys for the comments and advice. Ya, I most likely won't reach 500 without maxing it out. Ill use it for this season and probably upgrade during this winter. I spent a lot of time trying to clean everything up, freshening, and new hardware.

hell of a dyno day. Had problem after problem. it just wasn't my day. Wastegate was acting up, then spark issues. made 420 on 22lbs. need to fix fuel issue tho. ill keep you guys updated...

thats pretty sick man, have you thought about swapping the gsr cams for something else? i went through several cams before i found a set that worked...Brian Crower felt the best so far, i think they would fit pretty well in with your build.
