Default b16 84mm bore and 89mm crank and gt28rs worried about turbo surging

the setup will be neukin ramhorn t3 manifold, 38mm tial, 3" downpipe, 6" jrc intercooler on a b16 block stroked to 89mm with a 84mm bore with 9-1 compression and type r head and cams

the turbo has a ATP t3 housing external gate .60 inlet and .82 exhaust

also the motor would be 2 liter? or 1.988 or something

i will be buying this setup from a member on here real soon i just dont want to be shooting myself in the foot, im mostly worried that the motor will be over spooling the turbo what do you guys think ?

hmmm....... well

what PSI were planing on running?

also post up the compressor map for that turbo and ry to do the calculation of if your going to be running in the surge zone for the psi you plan on running

with my quick calculations which may not be exact

1.95 PR at 14psi
28.5 lbs/min

its not too bad actually....but it is on the outer right edge
on the compressor map...... the turbine map is a different story....

at 7psi = 1.47 PR
with 22 lbs/min

its still alittle high for the turbine map

and its low and to the right on the compressor map.... but remember these are estimates... do your own math, im doing this in a hurry while at work soo i dont have all my normal web pages that i use.....

should be a quick spooling fun street car thats for sure ........im sure you will be plenty happy with it........i don't think you will surge the compressor unless you try to run insane amount's of boost through it......

if your worried about controlling the turbine speed maybe you should look at a larger wastegate? i think tial has a 38/40mm hybrid wastegate. or just get a 44+mm gate.

so if it does surge i can go with a larger wastegate or would that be frowned upon

I don't see how a larger wastegate would help with surge at all.

it'll work good below 15psi, over that and the power will drop like a rock at high rpms
