Default B00st n00b here...also to forum!

Alright guys, I'm new to the site, so, yeah...hidy-ho neighbors!
Anyhow, my main question is (forgive me, but my results weren't found in the search, so don't bust my too hard ) but:
I'm getting either a 96 or 97 LS/GS. When boosting[nothing above 10psi.], what size head gasket would you recommend along with the idea of really not having to build up such things as rods, bearings, etc b/c both of the cars' blocks seem to be in pretty damn good condition. As far as I know, the motors in both of the cars have not been beat upon and both have under 60k on the engines. They're perfectly sound. But, I do plan on doing some top end work such as f/i or nitrous grind cams, valvetrain, sprokets, porting-all that fun stuff.
The kit I aso plan on using is the FMAX seeing it comes with everything I'm gonna need.
So basically I'm asking that is 10 psi a good size of pressure to run on a stock bottom end motr in such a condition is this? I see a lot of nice DC2's running like 15 psi on what seems to be virtually stock motors for the most part. so I'm just trying to back those sources up.
Any input we'll be appreciated
thanks ppl!

you can run a thicker HG byt its not neccesary at all, especially with only running 10psi. what you want to focus on is fuel management. that is the most important thing. there are plenty of people on this board putting down 250 -300 whp on stock blocks. so it all depends on your hp goals, welcome to the board!!!

Thanks, that makes sense to me now. lol after all, aren't head gaskets usually recommended for higher boost setups (20+).
Yes, I understand the fuel management parts. I'm looking into the FMAX specs now and it says it comes with 2 Lucas 440cc injectors...why only 2 though? Are these only secondary injectors? It also has what looks to be a black version of a Vortec FMU.
As for ECU stuffs, I'm not sure yet. I'm looking for a piggyback style, possbly an E-Manage unit. But, I'm also fond of Hondata seeing as its freakin sweet (the s200) and the wise array of usage by pp lon this site tells me its probably the best way to go. Or, the HKS F-Con. Hondata's are stand alone though, correct? You can program settings as you wish instead of say the E-Manage preprogrammed settings? I'm not up-on what settings I should prompting, so yeah, more along lines a piggyback.
Any suggestions for a max of 300 chp (looking at at least 250 to the wheels)???
Thanks again!

if it were me, id build a custom kit. for the money (2000) you can build a pretty sweet setup. an hondata isnt full standalone. check out hondata.com for more info.
