B vs K for boost

which would you choose and why...seems like a good topic

Zakar Nov 21, 2005 08:26 PM

its a nobrainer.. it just comes down to budget.. if you have the money for a kseries... do it

i have yet to see a k reach the power levels these guys have been pushing the B's people like geoff for example

Yup, its all about Money $$$$$$$

kasso Nov 21, 2005 09:09 PM

you can fully build a b series for the price of a k swap depending on the car

is one better to boost then the other?

it's all about money, but my opinion on the whole K vs B thing....

I think K-series has gone past it's infancy, but still in it's toddler years. There will be more power to pull from a K-series as time goes on. Especially all-motor, the K-series IMO has surpassed the B and H series motors already and it's only been a couple of years. The B-series is a tried and true method, Everyday new ways pop up on how to squeeze more power out of the B-series motors, but we will reach a max and I think it will be pretty fast at the rate everybody here is making power.

Look at it this way though. For a street car, the B-series motors already have enough problems with traction. Even if you make power with the K-series engines, you will not hook at all.

lets say u had 10k to build an engine..which would make more power for 10k...b or k?

paulzy Nov 21, 2005 09:53 PM

if you already had the motors already, I lean towards the K. but if you still have to buy the motors, I'd go with the B-series as they are easier to come by and cheaper. Let's not forget about spare parts because when power comes into play, things break

Re: B vs K for boost (2k.civic.si)

I think when your dealing with boost in any application the answers turn out the same. More psi more power. That isnt the case with all motor cars, you need to have a well designed motor and well setup plan to make power. I've chimed in on a few of these "boost on K or B" or "All motor k or all motor B"

I think depending on your wallet and your knowledge with the honda motors, you can make 600whp on either of the motors. That type of power though you can easyly break parts and will need to be able to have easy access to this stuff.

K great for the new all motor scene
B still good for boost because of parts and availibility and cheap
