what goals do you have whp wise? also is your motor built?

this will help everyone narrow down your size of turbo.

im looking for about 350whp and am looking at the gt2871R

yeah i got a built gsr motor still breaking it in. HP goals are 500 but I was curious because i daily drive and if the turbo fully spools at 5000 rpms its not going to be fun to drive then i will lower my HP goals.

yea my guess is a 500whp turbo will not be spooling before 5k...but i will leave that to the turbo experts

All the gt30's will spool before 5k and most push at least 500whp (gt3071, gt3076) if not closer to 600whp (gt3082)

5000 isn't so bad, just downshift.

3000+ RPM's of power is a damned nice powerband.

gt2871r .86, stock b16 starts around 3500ish, hits full boost around 4500ish also dependent on gear and load.

Dude, if u want 500hp as a daily driver and also want full spool by 5krpm u not gonna be able to use that power down cos u won't have traction at that low rpm... U'd be spinning like a bitch. Its somtimes good to power coming in later to help u with traction progressively..

I'm going to be running a fully built GSR block, darton sleeves, 84mm cp pistons. and a built b16 head. I'm looking for around 500whp. I've been looking at the SC-61 and GT35R. I know the GT35R is ball bearing, all that's going to do is make it spool a little faster, so i was thinking about just getting the GT35 to save about $500. Are the specs on these turbos the same? Anyone have any suggestions on what A/R to go with for more top end power from like 5500-6000 until shifting? Thanks

a hx35/40 hyrbid would def fit all your needs....youd just be able to keep it hooked up w/ the sudeen onset of power...and they are a lot cheaper...then all the baller snails

The GT30r that I have on my H22/Civic showed 7.2 lbs. when I punched it in 4th @2300 and took it to 3000 rpms.
Checked today.

If you want a gt turbo and with your goals, I would get a gt3076, sick power band!!! You will not be driving at 500hp all the time I hope. The gt3076 makes a beautiful power band at a lower boost like 15psi on pump gas.
Look at these dyno graphs.
(GT3076)-->http://forums.evans-tuning.com...gt30r
and GT30r-->http://forums.evans-tuning.com...gt30r

That would be so fun to drive..
