38 views and no one can tell me what i have to do to run turbo. i'm a newbi and my question is just what engine work has to be done to my car so the motor doesn't blow if i boost at 6psi.

Hey guy,

I HAD and auto teg that was boosted. The person did a pretty CRAPPY job and blew my engine, turbo and tranny. I've been paying bills since (about 500 bucks a month) and I am still waiting for the turbo.

Few things to note:
1)AUTO TEG WITH TURBO WAS REALLLLLY FUN http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsmile.gif

2)Torque converter is not going to help strengthen the tranny. If I were you I would just keep it at low boost (7-8 lbs), get a HUGE AFTERMARKET TRANNY COOLER, and pray that that little tranny can take the pressure. If used in moderation, you will be having a blast.

3)You still won't launch for crap, but since you keep that foot on the peddle, you will be hauling. On the highway at 50 MPH, my tires CHIRPED HARDCORE when smashed into passing gear.

Bottom line - auto tranny is weak. A good long term and somewhat pricey investment would be to get a stronger auto tranny from LEVEL10, or at least get the "bullet proof" kit (300 parts + 8 hours labor). TAKE CARE OF YOUR TRANNY! REPLACE IT, BEEF IT UP and above all, COOL THAT MUTHA!

good luck.

BTW, you will be faster than another auto with IHE. Get a small turbo unless you are planning to beef up that tranny and run higher boost. I had the Revhard stage 2. T3/T4 if I were you, I would get a smaller one. Save on lagg and money.

Re: auto with turbo? (integrx)

thank you all for the reply, i know now that i'll need the turbo kit(of course), a torque converter, and better tranny cooler.
and as for the teg with i/h/e, i knew i could be an auto, but i was refering to a stick LS with i/h/e. i will do more research and hope to be boosted in 1/2 a year. just wondering how much were you boosting when you blew your engine, turbo, tranny?
any one got sites to aftermarket tranny cooler ?

I think that it was somewhere around 3 lbs. It was because fluids were leaking and everything was just set up like crap. Watch your fuel curves also.

Good luck.
