Auto Door Unlocking

My friend is putting in a greddy TT in his 98 civic. Is there a way to turn off the automatic door unlocking feature? Is that a factory or alarm feature?

He would take his keys out and lock the door with them. The TT would count down and when the engine turns off the door unlocks. He still wants to retain the use of his power door locks. TIA

Well, I have the same problem. I've asked this question before too but didn't get an answer. I have an aftermarket alarm which I just took the pin out for the door unlocking feature but now I have to lock my doors before I leave the car. Good luck.

So the unlocking feature is from the alram and not a factory thing?

what tt are you running mine just does not allow me to lock my doors with the remote. so when i get out i just hold the handle and hit the lock button. my civic is also a 97, same gen as yours.

Sorry, but my car is a 98 gsr. If he still has the factory radio and alarm it may be that so try what's posted above.
