ATTN: ALL WHO ARE BOOSTED... NEED YOUR OPINIONS
I am inches away from dropping $3500 for a turbo build with only reputable parts (H23):
Garret T3/T04e, 60 trim, .63 a/r (pushing 6psi on stock internals)
TiAL BOV and wastegate
walbro 255hp
RC 550 injectors
socketed ecu (tuned with crome)
...etc
The list goes on but those are the essentials.
Here's the problem, car has 160K miles on it. Rebuilt head ~5k miles ago.
Assuming EVERYTHING is tuned correctly and installed properly with all essential components (which it will be)...
What are some of the worst problems that could happen?
For those boosting:
What problems have you had?
How much boost are you running?
How long did it run before it broke?
How much did it cost to fix?
How many miles does you car have on it?
etc. etc.
I really don't want to get this put together and spend $3500 if I will have to spend $1000 just a month later to rebuild the block. Honestly, I would probably drop $3k for a truely "BUILT" block if that were to happen, but I REALLY do not want to. Does this sound like a safe bet? Would you do it if you were in my shoes?

Well, what is it that your getting? Are you piecing together your own kit?
EDIT: I would be concerned with the 160k only if you have been noticing a lot of problems recently, with stuff just falling apart, etc. Before you do anything, you need to:
1) Replace timing belt (tensioner if possible)
2) Cap, Rotor, Coil, Wires
3) Water/Oil Pump
4) Compression and leakdown test.
Compression testing is the only "real" way you will be able to tell if your motor is in good running cond. Other than that, you should be fine. BTW, all those things should have been done at least once already w/ high mileage like that. 2 step colder spark plugs, and you will be golden!

a compression and leakdown test would be your best answer.
if the motor doesnt, smoke, knock, tick, tap, etc.... you should be ok

Re: (h22 civic)
230k on a bone stock D16Z6@7psi daily. No problems other than my gay oil leak. But that's because I was given the wrong fitting for my oil feed for the back of my block.
I've got an oil adapter thingy coming in this weekend, so after that it'll be 230k miles on a stock motor with zero problems.
Been boosted about 2 or 3 months.

Re: (h22 civic)
do you have any experience to back up your claims. If so, I would love to hear any possible problems that I might run into. This sucks, now I am even considering buying a new car such as an FD or FC rx-7, if this whole turbo thing doesnt work out
