ok, ive got a 2.1 liter lsvtec... fully built, goal is 500whp on pump at 18psi
b16hydro tranny out of my 99si, os giken twin plate, obx lsd, gator stage 3 axles.... would i benefit from the closer ratio or just have more traction issues?

i believe u would have traction issues, i had it on my all motor setup and the gearing is so damn short its not even funny. it sucked on long drives, plus the fact that i had a 4.7 final didn't help either. ive talked to a friend that had a 4.4 and he even said that was too much. dunno what your plan is for your car as in drag, autox, roadrace. this is just my .02, some may have different opinions but for boost, definately not.

its gonna see road race mostly, road atlanta, barber, vir, etc. a good bit of street driving as well, maybe or two trips down th 1320... think id be better off with the stock gearset?

i would go with stock imo, plus i might add that my 3rd ats gear totally stripped out not even slamming gears. i just was shifting normal and got on it up to redline in 3rd gear and bam, sounded like a misshift but my 3rd gear was just toast. these are suppose to be cryo treated, but i would stick with stock. thats what i prefer and im way happier with it than the ats. its costly to replace ats gears as well i might add, they will not warranty ****, the guy on the phone basically told me your SOL. So im sorta against ats ****, but I guess they can't warranty race parts like that, something is bound to happen regardless. Just my thoughts tho on ats gearing, don't get me wrong but it was a fun tranny, just got old quick.
