Default ARP head studs, and Cosmetic HG worth it?

Its a stock GSR with CTR head and GSR cams ~ 9.8:1 CR.

Im going to run ARP head studs, and since i will have to replace the HG regardless i was wondering if its worth it to lower the compression a few more points with a thicker cosmetic head gasket.. say down to around ~9.3:1

Or if i should just go OEM 3-layer?

..And i hear nothing good about blockguards, so im not even going to bother on that one!

Thanks.. The GSR will be boosting 7psi.

First off - there's nothing wrong with block guards. Atleast the good ones. They prevent the cylinders from shape warping as much. And they don't create hot spots because they have coolant passages in them. So, they cost a few bucks, might as well get one, unless your block is sleeved.

Also, i would suggest going for the cometic head gasket. 9.8:1 is pretty high for forced induction. It'll help the tuner out so much if you lowered the compression.
