As in "solid as a rock", I meant they have absolutely no movement in them. I can't say for sure that yours are too loose, but in my opinion, it doesn't look right.

Good luck!
if you have forged pistons minimum i would recommend is .0030 if turbo we start at .0035. .0003 is way to tight for forged pistons

Since we are on the subject, for future reference, is it safe to say that for every 100hp you need 0.001" p2w?

That theory seems valid until you get to the high hp guys at like 7-800hp, they don't run 0.007 p2w, right?

with any forged piston .0030 is minimum i would run for lower hp. most the full race turbo cars i see run .0050 .0060 and up but I'm talking 800 and up hp

Good to know. It seems .0045 is plenty for 500whp

are you guys ordering new rings when you make the ptw clearances bigger? Or what are the gaps you are running on the rings?

If I understand you right, no. You gap the rings according to the power you want to run. The rings that come with the pistons are fine. Arias says run 22 minimum for the top ring. Since Im running about 30psi (550whp) Im gaping my top ring at 26 and my second at 22 since this one sees less heat. (Arias recommends 20-28)
