Default Aquamist Water injection?

Has anyone tried this?...its suppose to inject a light mist of water into the intake track of a boosted car to cool the intake charge....Its suppose to add up to 40 more HP....but would this cause problem within the cylinders?

I know quite a few domestics who use this, namely GN's, with great results. they claim they can boost a lot higher. I have seen it on a DSM, but the guy was both a dick and a moron and did not want to talk about it.

I have yet to see a Honda using it.

my friend is building one right now, he found a web site with instructions, even part numbers, or you can spend about 300 bux and buy a system. ill get that site for you today.

seems like a really simple system to build but I would be afraid of hydrolocking the engine...please let us know your results!

Spearco makes a system that's a little cheaper than the Aquamist system.
http://www.spearcointercoolers.com/h20inject.htm

$260.00 here: http://www.racetep.com/wik.html#trbh20

Its fine for racing, but on a daily driver it just seems like another thing that can go wrong. You can't really tune for it to be there all the time since you can't guarantee it'll always be filled.

if you put one together like the guy did on that link hyundai4G63T posted, it would cost way less than 300 bux. i wouldnt use it as my only method of intercooling, but it couldnt hurt as a secondary system, set to spray at 5psi or so. but hey, ill wait till he builds his and see if it works

I was thinking of using one with my intercooler....it suppose to cool the charge by a gppn 90 degrees. imagine if you put chilled water in...

I should have the prototype done today and Iam going to start testing it out so I will let you know how the results turn out.

I also have the link for a actual Aquamist setup but it was costing in the range of 300+ dollars. This setup uses the existing windshiled sprayer as the tank and pump. The guy if you read the whole article on the link that I posted is using it on a T1 motor in an Chrysler, that is his only means of cooling.

So with no intercooler on his car he dropped his charge temps 90 degrees at 14psi with this setup, on mine I am also going to adapt it to my already exsiting I/C sparyer.

I would like to know how this works out too. I have found many sites out there related to this subject, but nobody seems to know anyone who uses it. Using water injection is supposed to prevent carbon build up also. It sounds like one of those things that is too good to be true, but it has been around for a while! I think I have some of the sites saved in my favs. I will check them out. I thought I saw a system for around $100. But I am not sure. Let me know how it works for you.

Just a little update, I found this system for $229.00, here is the link. http://www.aquatune.com/special.html

There are pretty nice...not a gimmicky toy like somethings sold out there...I have been doing some research and found a lot people saying that they are able to boost 1 to 3 psi's higher with it. The disadvantages are that its expensive, need to filling up the water tank all the time, and if you build a turbo system that depends on the water injection, you will be the proverbial dookie creek if you happen to run out of water. I'd say use it as additive protection protection against heat and detonation...
