Apexi Power FC, Fcon.............
Anyone have any experience using this standalone ecu for the honda? It's competitively priced with the S300, and was wondering it's capabilities? Anyone have experience with the Apexi Power FC?

No one's had any experience with this ecu?

i tuned a power FC this week as a matter of fact. it was on a DSM but the system is exactly the same.
its cery very hard to get going. we had to do about 4 hours of work before the car started to even be street tuned. its set up is slightly different than any i have ever seen. there is more control over injectors/ injector vs. TPS, injector % per RPM. all in all its like an AEM combined with hondata. and it is very hard to use. you cant even just input injectors into the system, you have to do a math equation and figure the efficiency and enter the injector lag time........kinda sucked just buy an s300, very easy to navigate, everything is labeled as it should be |
Re: (mrbsponge)
While i'd definitely take an s300 over a power fc, the power fc is a great system. It comes with very good basemaps and is very easy to navigate through and tune if you have the software for it. Tuning with the commander is a pain in the ass, but it's nice to have to be able to monitor and make small changes with. If you get it, definitely get the dataloggit software to tune it with.

the basemaps i saw were mostly of JDM motors, and nothing i could use, i had to go and find a 4g63 map on the internet and load it in there and scale from that point. also if you dont have the "full package" you have options that are "not enable" similar to the old hondata stuff and cant use some of the features that you would want. definetley go with an s300 nothing idles a honda, lika honda ecu https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |
Re: (mrbsponge)
I've been running the power fc for about a year and a half and have had no problems with it. My car runs great and I've seen others run high hp setups with great success. Having the commander is great, and I really like being able to monitor all the engine parameters and check all my sensors by hitting a couple buttons. Definately get fc datalogit if you go that route though. I idle 750cc injectors just like stock as well. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Power FC is the best entry level standalone on the market.

Yup https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif It worked great when I was on a mild boosted setup -- GT28RS @ 8 psi. I never had to bother with getting the car to idle, etc etc.. Worked great with minimal effort. It is only when folks use the system for more drastic changes that run into problems since they are using the wrong system for the wrong setup. |
Re: (Tony the Tiger)
i have had the power fc for four years. have made over 600whp on 29psi. now i am going to use the aem 3.5 bar sensor so i can boost 35 psi. i am pleased how it has perform. as someone said before, it is a very good entry level standalone.

Re: Apexi Power FC, Fcon.............
I would like to ask If Power FC has Launch Control, Anti-lag and flat shift.
|
Re: Apexi Power FC, Fcon.............
Power FC pro does, but they longer sell them
|
Re: Apexi Power FC, Fcon.............
Correct. APex'i never really intended for its users to see these features, as its original designers really never expected it to be used for drag racing, only circuit and street use. The PRO was only sold to tuning facilities that were Power Excel Dealers, and were not intended for the general public.
