AVC-R has more options but it is also more complicated. I like the Profec B because it is simple to use and repliable (atleast it has been for me).

AVCR = Gear Dependant Boost Control.
Don't boost without it in a FWD car.

I have a blitz dual-SBC...
I love it...
Easy to use, once you understand how these work, and very useful scrable boost and overboost function. The warning and peak boost display is nice to have too.

I've played with the Spec B II and teh AVC-R before. I find the AVC-R is more consistent in hitting the target boost. The self-learning duty cycle mode (when you get it to work) makes that part of the tuning easy. You just have to read the manual and it's pretty easy to figure out.

rpm and speed sensors help determine gearing. you have to teach it though.

I love my avc-r, coolest toy ever!!!

I didn't know that. Interesting... I'm going to have to look into it.

I'm currently running the Greddy Profec B-spec, and like it!

I am a huge fan of the avc-r. I have ran a profec-b on another guys car and it really liked to spike as well as drop. Yes, it's simple to use but you cannot change duty per rpm range like you can do with the avc-r. When you change a duty cycle setting on the profec b it will applies to every rpm, so it's a hit or miss situation when dealing with boost drop or spike.

the old profec is simple to set up from what i hear, but there is no display
the spec 2 is alot harder to set up and tempermental if its not right, but does have a display with peak and hold and warning modes and **** .

the AVCR has gear based boost control, injector duty cylce and some self learning modes which make it easier to set up , but still a little difficult
