I did my own fittings- it's really easy and quite a no brainer. All you need is the fittings($5 ea.), braided line(like $2/ft here), and a pair of pliers. The fittings are compression fittings and are crimped on using the pliers. Also it's alot cheaper than buying the pre-assembled lines, especially if you have your own fittings.
I'm not from Houston but, go to your local shops- namely a fittings place. Most will have them or be able to direct you to the right place. Try www.summitsportcompact.com but like I said, they'll charge you more for the same thing, and your stuck buying in their incriments. GL

Roby,
Tell me what you want and I will quote you a price fully assembled. I will use all Aeroquip fittings and hoses to the lengths you want. I am not a business, but can get good prices in small quantities. I would be happy to add the small amount of labor it takes to assemble them for you.
Or, send me what you got and I will put them together for you. It is quite easy once you do it a dozen or so times.
Send me an e-mail randygaz@attbi.com to discuss.

Re: anywhere to buy preassembled braided steel? (roby)
look for truck shops in your area. i mean shop that works on semis/ tractor trailers. these vehicles have complex hydraulic/pneumatic systems with pressures/temperatures that make our lines look like a mcdonalds milkshake straw.
my fuel line is rated at 300psi with 3000psi crimp connectors on it cost me $12.50
edit but its not braided steel, its some braided nylon stuff. just as good (if not better) but doesnt have that bling bling effect...last time i checked, braided steel lines never got anybody laid

Actually, the line is going to be tephlon with braided steel outside. It's the same stuff as my old steel-braided line was, just made it myself. You slide the fittings in between the steel braid and the tephlon tubing, crimp the fitting-all done. You'd be amazed how strong the fitting is on there- compared to the pressure you are applying to it. Also, I meant to say I used vice-grips not pliers(although that should work too)

Roby,
I got all my fittings and braided steel lines locally at GHX plumbing. Here is their contact info. They are located off the corner of Gessner and Clay Rd.
GHX Inc.
4360 Gessner
Houston, TX 77041, (713) 939-7423
They have the full assortment of Aeroquip fittings, lines, hose clamps etc in stock. Everything will add up, might be costly, but you get what you pay for.
That's if you want to buy locally, hth
