Check out the first few runs and then check out the last few. This car had no dumptube and was blowing exhaust fumes into the intake. I got the dyno operator to find me a 3" 90 degree bend to put on the dump. He held it over the wastegate opening during the dyno pull and voila a 40whp gain and a much smoother power curve.

Dumping under the pan or anywhere outside of the engine bay seems to be the absolute best solution.

And i just figured out why this car has been having missfiring issues at idle and stuff. Also probably why it didn't make a little more power than it did. One of the injector isn't firing as well as the rest

That is a pretty cool comparison. I am going ot make sure to check that on cars when they are on the dyno before we strap it on.

Good thing you foudn that injector problem. I would see if he can get that one replaced or the whole set flow balanced to see if any of the others are out or getting there.

Saw a test like this from Jeff Evans. They got like 40whp or sumthin like that as well.

Yeah Boosted Hybrid had tested this theory of dumptube placement a few months back came up with some awesome gains just like yours in this case

so those graphs are just with a pipe put over the wastegate outlet? Im finally get my dumptube made soon so I hope to get good gains.

You have pics of where you wastegate sits compared to the turbo?

yes the dyno operator actually had to hold the pipe there while we were doing the pull. He is a brave man . I dont have any pics of the integras setup.

ya i took my car to jeff evans for tune with no dumptube because i didnt have time to make before my tunedate.so on the dyno car just wasnt makin the power it should of.then jeff welded up a dumptube to stick straight up out of the hood(or engine bay)and the car picked up like 60whp.the turbo was suckin in the hot air.

hey john, maybe we can do a comparison like this on my car. i wanna get back up there sometime around spring break with a dump tube, 3" exhaust and no cat. see what kinda gains we can get, maybe put it up around 300+whp this time...

p.s. if your lucky ill get the valve cover cut so you can play with the cam gears too. LOL

I remember awhile back you were having problems with your turbo setup. so is this the reason why for the low numbers from last time?

i always felt like when my wastegate opened (when i could hear it) it seemed to accelerate a little less im thinking this could probably be the reason.
...like if i went part throttle enough to get full boost or almost full boost but not really have the wg open much it felt faster than at WOT with the WG screamin::
